As a corollary to our mission our practice enables businesses to avoid ‘solving the wrong problems – really well’. We typically engage with a senior team to help them work through complex challenges or opportunities in a way that will lead to a clear vision. Vision always requires a viable strategy in order to deliver on its intentions, and ultimately leads to a more resilient organisation – one that is better equipped to cope with whatever life throws at it. Our belief is that the knowledge and capability to effect meaningful change sits within the organisation. We also believe that strategy needs to be owned and delivered by those in the business, not dependent on external providers over a long-term. The issue too is often that strategy isn’t given the time and attention it needs. The increasing complexity of working environments, coupled with the inability to step out of busy day jobs and think differently about ways of working and thinking, means that the hard decisions frequently get deferred indefinitely. And what follows is that initiatives stall and cynicism and apathy take over. It’s a vicious cycle that we are often called in to break – and at the same time to inject new perspectives, stimulate creativity and reignite teams.
