This spectacular weekend allows you the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful floral displays at Tatton Park’s annual RHS Flower Show and includes a visit to RHS Bridgewater Gardens, the fifth public garden by the Royal Horticultural Society. The 156-acre site in Salford includes the former Worsley New Hall and Nesfield terraces, a lake, 35 acres of woodland, parkland and a magnificent 11-acre walled garden.

Friday We drive to Salford for a visit to RHS Bridgewater Garden. Named after the historic Bridgewater Canal which runs adjacent to the site, these gardens are set in the grounds of the former estate of the First Earl of Ellesmere. Designed by leading landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith, highlights include one of the largest walled gardens in the UK, beautifully landscaped grounds, lakes and woodland, living plant collections and horticultural trails. From here we continue to our hotel for dinner and our 2-night stay.
Saturday With a whole host of amazing gardens to see, design tips, shopping and growing inspiration, the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park should be a must-do event in the calendar of who has an interest in anything horticultural. This is one of the most popular Flower Shows organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and promises to be an inspiration for those with green fingers or those simply looking for an interesting and exciting trip away.
Sunday After breakfast we travel to Liverpool, where upon arrival a guide will join us for a tour of the city’s major landmarks. Famous for its two Cathedrals; Liverpool’s historic waterfront is a unique feature which offers five world class attractions –The Albert Dock, Famous Mersey Ferries, The Tate Gallery Liverpool, The Beatles Story and the Merseyside Maritime Museum. We depart for home during the afternoon.

Friday Enjoy a relaxed journey to our hotel in Lytham St Annes with comfort breaks along the way. A free afternoon to enjoy the peaceful parks, beautiful gardens and admire the old half-timbered buildings of Lytham. Stroll along the fine promenade and the lovely sandy beach. Lytham has excellent shopping, with many quaint independent shops as well as the larger stores. Saturday Enjoy free time in Blackpool – Britain’s favourite seaside resort! Perhaps visit the world-famous Blackpool Tower, one of the most loved and recognisable landmarks in the world and home to the famous Tower Ballroom, The Tower Circus, The Blackpool Tower Dungeons and The Blackpool Tower Eye. This evening the coach will take you on an Illuminations drive taking you through the six miles of dazzling “artificial sunlight” as over a million lamps, lasers and light bulbs create this electric extravaganza! (Early dinner tonight).
Sunday Departing after breakfast we head to the coast for time at leisure in the classic seaside resort of Southport. We continue via Crosby Beach viewing the spectacular ‘Another Place’ sculptures by Antony Gormley – 100 cast iron, life-size figures spreading out along 3-kilometres of the foreshore. We return home during the afternoon.

Friday Today we travel to Harrogate, one of Yorkshire’s most elegant destinations! Enjoy some free time in this characterful little town which isn’t short of interesting attractions, including some magnificent garden walks and panoramic views. Perhaps, you’d prefer a day exploring Harrogate’s many boutique shops and quaint tearooms. From here we continue to York arriving in time for dinner and our 2-night stay.
Saturday A free day to discover the magnificent City of York. The walls surrounding the city are some of the finest and most complete in England still retaining all four of their impressive gateways into the city. Stroll around the delightful old, cobbled streets with their half-timbered houses and marvel at the Gothic masterpiece of York Minster in whose foundations lay the original layers of York’s history. The museums are excellent and there is a varied shopping area, so you will quickly discover why York has been labelled England’s finest historic city.
Tonight, we enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at the popular Skiddaw Hotel. Monday After breakfast we join the coach for a full day’s excursion through the Lake District. We enjoy a scenic drive via Grasmere to Bowness for lunch and perhaps enjoy a leisurely Lake Windermere cruise. Departing Windermere mid-afternoon, we arrive home during the evening.
Sunday Another morning to discover York’s many delightful attractions. Perhaps take a boat trip on the River Ouse, stroll down Viking streets at the Jorvik Centre, or explore one of the city’s incredible museums… York simply has it all! We return home during the early evening.
