Friday We travel north, calling at York en-route with time to have lunch and explore a little. Perhaps visit the magnificent Minster or wander along the Shambles. Continue to our hotel, with time to settle in before dinner.

Saturday We depart our hotel at 11.00am for Durham. Free time for lunch and time to explore in day light before the city gets into full swing for this year’s amazing Lumiere Spectacular from 4.30pm – Prepare to be enthralled as the city comes to life with an incredible sound and light show as historic buildings, including the magnificent cathedral, are transformed into a nocturnal wonderland.

Sunday A morning visit to the Beamish Living Museum of the North where we can enjoy a whole host of Christmas festivities as the Town and Pit Village take on a festive feel with period decorations from the early 1900’s. We head for home during the mid-afternoon.

Thursday We travel north through the Borders to Edinburgh. Check in to our hotel with a warm welcome and a hearty 3-course meal.

Friday Enjoy some Christmas shopping or explore the markets before enjoying a festive afternoon tea at a local hotel. Early evening, we arrive at Edinburgh Castle for a magical light show of projections and immersive illuminations.

Saturday A further morning at leisure in Edinburgh, departing after lunch for our homeward journey.

/ One boarding point with free parking – For a quick start to the beginning and end of your break, there is just one boarding point, here at our premises at Liveridge Hill. Our car park is safe, secure and well-lit and you can park here for the duration of the break, free of charge.
