We emphasise an applied teaching approach so not only do we provide you with the necessary academic and theoretical understanding of your subjects, we integrate placement opportunities so you can gain exposure to a variety of healthcare settings. We also firmly believe in learning through simulation where you experience real-life situations but in a safe and realistic environment, aiding your preparation for placement. We work with volunteer patients so you can practice your response when facing real scenarios common to your profession. Your learning experience will also be enhanced through our state-of-the-art facilities. You will have access to a wide range of equipment commonly encountered in practice, including:
Human Performance Laboratory, Functional Capacity Laboratory,
Radiography Suite,
Physiotherapy Suite and Gym,
Ward Setting, Intensive Care Room with high-fidelity simulator MetiMan, RGU SPORT,
Occupational Therapy Home Setting and Food Handling Laboratory. We have strong relationships with practitioners and managers in acute, community and primary care NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and private sectors which ensures our delivery of education is relevant and evidence based to provide you with skills for the future.

Duration varies from 4-7 weeks and you will undertake 7 in total, allowing you to experience a range of different settings and disciplines within the subject ■ Our purpose-built Clinical Skills Centre has been designed to mimic a range of situations. You will also use our Therapy Practice Rooms and a Human Performance Laboratory which has sophisticated three-dimensional motion analysis systems ■ The elective placement in Year 3 gives you the opportunity to study physiotherapy provision in another country ■ Approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

CAREER PROSPECTS Radiographers have the opportunity to specialise in a range of areas within the health service such as computerised tomography (CT), ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography or nuclear medicine. CAREER PROSPECTS
Career options include coaching within the community; sports development, coaching children or coaching athletes. Alternatively you could consider postgraduate study in physical education or a related area, or research in sport coaching. In the future you could be coaching elite athletes, working in coach development with a national governing body or coaching young people in schools and community groups.
