TRANSCRIPTIONS! Born in 1981 in Minsk (Belarus), Alesia Arnatovich started her piano studies when she was six years old. Alesia studied at the Belarusian State Academy of Music under the supervision of professor Sergey Turgel. In 2005, she obtained her Master of Music Art degree with the best grades possible. Alesia Arnatovich combined her teacher experience with her activities as a concertmaster and performing activities. She played in different countries, such as Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Bahrain and Indonesia. Transcription means rewriting a piece of music, either solo or ensemble, for another instrument or other instruments than which it was originally intended. During the 19th century piano transcriptions became very popular. F. Schubert – F. Liszt Songs - Transcriptions for Piano Solo Ferenc Liszt was a 19th century Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist and teacher. Most of the concerts at this time were shared with other artists and consequently Liszt was among the first to give solo piano recitals in the modern sense of the word, he transcribed for piano numerous songs by Schubert. 1. Mikhail Pletnev is a great Russian musician. He has made a significant contribution to the development of the genre of transcriptions for the piano.
