Montegrappa A Brand with Heritage and style Founded in 1912 as a ‘Manifattura pennini d’oro e penne stilograche’ (‘Manufacturer of gold nibs and fountain pens’), Montegrappa – originally known as ELMO – benetted from a pool of skilled local talent, able to create a workforce able to produce nely crafted objects, with style, with panache, and with a drive to achieve excellence. Generations later, this regional benet still denes Montegrappa’s team.

HISTORY AND PROFILE Montegrappa’s factory is located on the bank of the River Brenta, the river winding through the town of Bassano del Grappa. Montegrappa’s geography and its Italian heritage are important elements of the company’s persona. ‘Italian-ness’ is at the heart of Montegrappa tradition. It denes the brand philosophy, its attitudes, its style. Now into its second century as a privately-owned manufacturer and the producer of Italy’s nest writing instruments, Montegrappa has developed with great rapidity a catalogue that encompasses scents, watches, cufinks, leather goods and other accessories. The transition to covering the broad spectrum of the luxury lifestyle will ensure Montegrappa’s success for the next generation.

Montegrappa has evolved from a writing instrument company with over a 100 years of heritage to a luxury lifestyle company. Living the Montegrappa Lifestyle has seen some of the most renowned icons give their endorsement to the brand. The Montegrappa Lifestyle is where old-meets-new, street-meetsboardroom, fashion-meets-function – the rules have changed to encourage a new freedom and cross-pollination. Strategy Perhaps Montegrappa’s greatest challenge has been crossing generational rather than cultural divides. For this, we have embraced a new melding of forms, called ‘Contamination’ by those who work in fashion and art, a new movement that will affect design language in many areas and disciplines. For Montegrappa, it is a deliberate move, a conscious change of direction in line with the changing times. Scent of the Monte Grappa

The climatic conditions derived from the mountain’s positioning have favored the integration of shrubby type vegetation, typical of Mediterranean zones, with northern, mountain zone formations that occupy little space.

The grand oral richness of Monte Grappa is also derived from anthropication which, in preferring ď€ elds and pastures being mowed, resulted in large areas of forest being cleared in the lower altitudes.

For the man, NeroUno offers a sophisticated masculine fragrance, combining the ď€ nest herbs and spices from the Monte Grappa mountain, with Mediterranean citrus aromas and wood oils, perfectly blended by our master perfumers in Italy.


Scent of the Monte Grappa Fragrance Pyramid Like music, perfume has three sets of notes, which makes the harmony of the scent. It gradually unfolds with time depending on the weight of the ingredient molecules. Middle notes are sometimes called the ‘Heart note’, and Bottom notes are called the ‘Dry down’ or ‘Base notes’ too.

Scent of the Monte Grappa Men NeroUno brings you an inspiring and calming scent that creates a feeling of unlimited freedom, the kind of feeling that you only experience high up on the peaks of Monte Grappa mountain. Our master perfumers have combined Italian Lemons, Calabrian Bergamot, Nutmeg, Clarysage, Basil, Lavender, Petitgrain, and Juniper Berries on the top notes. The middle notes include, Clove, Gerranium, Lily of valley, Cinammon, and Cyclamen Additioonal depth in the bottom notes comes from: Vetyver Java, Patchouly,Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, Tonka Bean, and Fir Balsam, to Give a fragrance that is highly reď€ ned and sophisticated.

Scent of the Monte Grappa Ladies The latest addition to the NeroUno Lifestyle Collection is the fragrance for women. Keeping true to the look and feel of the NeroUno family, Montegrappa has created a bottle shaped around the brand's signature octagonal design. Drawing on existing brand features, the bottle's cap shares a rose gold ď€ nish akin to the rose gold pens and accessories in the existing collection. As with the gentleman's fragrance, NeroUno for women was developed in Italy by Montegrappa's master perfumers and drew inspiration from the beauty and serenity of the Monte Grappa Mountains.This time the focus is on a sweeter and more oral composition, which gives the fragrance a passionate, alluring and unmistakably Italian feeling.The elegant scent contains top notes of Bergamot Calabria and rhubarb, middle notes of Night Queen Tuberose and black rose; with a base of Patchouli Indonesia, sandalwood, Gourmand Notes, vanilla, cedarwood and vetyver.
