David Rivera and I were young teens when we met in East Harlem/El Barrio in 1960. We were in our 60s when we reconnected in 2010 at a neighborhood reunion. We fell quickly, madly and deeply in love. This book is my testimony that death does not have the last word. I thank God for loving and keeping me after David ascended to higher ground and for giving me a story to write and to share in The Book of David: My East Harlem Love Story.

Priscilla’s story was inspired by two little girls who were deeply affected by the divorce of their parents whom they loved equally. The Priscilla May Series began as a means to explain the absence of their beloved father during the first year of divorce. Divorce is hard for adults. Can you imagine how it feels to a child? After their parents’ divorce, the girls struggle to find a line of normalcy, something they can count on despite the fact that they are confused. Priscilla May’s Prayer addresses their feelings during the first year of divorce. The months of that first year are detailed in short stories which I hope will show the resilience of children.

Books. Beats. Body. Business. Bold. I took editor liberties and added Business because it is also about handling, creating and developing your business of living if not a formal business. For the past 11 years, I've been about Books, (written 53) Beats (my music CD "Begin Again") and Business (4 companies and counting.) In the past year, I've taken some very Bold Risks. Why? I realize that some opportunities only present themselves once. I must be strategic but as a CEO and Business owner, I have to act. I can't just talk about it. I must be about my business. I have learned ALOT about myself, people, organizations, what people say is NOT always what they mean and what people DO speaks volumes. Again, I've learned alot. Congratulations to US! But, I guess you're wondering what the Body part is about? I'm so glad that you asked. My husband has had some serious illnesses within the past two years which has us living a different lifestyle of better eating and more living. I'm still working on the sugar aspect but I only have this body, temple or house for my spirit and soul. Until I get that NEW body in heaven, I have to take care of this body right now. My grandmother lived to be 104, why not me too? Different time, lifestyle and discipline, but I've got some of those good genes too. It could happen. What's Next? Turn the Page and Let's begin.

Next Steps? - Action
Book - What is that thing that you've always wanted to try but haven't yet? It may not be writing a book but there is something that you've wanted to do that's just in your mind and heart. Find out who does it, learn from them and then go for it. Beats - What makes your heart beat faster and gets you going in the morning? It may not be related to your job or business but something you love. Find your passion and pursue it with all of your might. Body - I'm not the only one who needs to take better care of themselves. What do you need to work on? Better sleep. More exercise. More Water. No fried foods. I love it too but had to let it go. You know what it is. Mine is all of the above plus Less Sugar. Let's go! Business - Did you know that what you love and passionate about that you can make money at that? There are so many people that have turned a hobby, gift or skill into a Business worth millions. You ready to try? Reach out to me if you need help. Bold - I realize that some of the things that I mentioned are going to be scary, uncomfortable, out of your comfort zone and hemisphere but do it! Be unapologeticly BOLD about it. No matter who doesn't think it's a good idea including your mama and daddy, yes I said it. Go for it. In the words of my grandfather, Jesse Foree, Sr., "I can show you better than I can tell you."

As a School Librarian, one way to raise funds is to host a book fair. Some school librarians host book fairs annually or bi-annually with the support of administrators, parents and other volunteers to subsidize the ever decreasing library budgets. BK Royston Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of Royston Book Fairs. Why? To support libraries by providing quality children's books to represent children of all nationalities as well as offer an additional fundraising opportunity. Currently, the children's book industry publishes less than 10% of its books with children of color as the lead characters. Royston Book Fairs wishes to provide children's books so that all children will see themselves. If you are a librarian, school administrator, staff member or volunteer, email us at bkroystonpublishing@gmail.com, call 502-802-5385 or visit: http://www.bkroystonpublishing.com/bookfairs for more information. If you are interested in being an ambassador for the Royston Book Fairs, reach out to us at bkroystonpublishing@gmail.com and put "Ambassador" in the subject line. More to come...

20/20 Vision I have worn glasses for approximately 48 years of my 56 years on earth. I believe I was born with a eye problem but it wasn't seriously discovered until 8 years old. I couldn't see the board clearly and kept writing down the wrong numbers for the math problems. Yes, before computers and other mobile devices. Glasses was a solution and an expensive one for my parents. Now I buy my own glasses and they are still expensive but sight for my business and life are the most expensive things I will invest in. What I see will determine my direction. Why is that important to know? Because your direction will determine your destination. Ever heard the saying, "They are heading down the wrong road." It is true but if you can't see the wrong road or not trying to get advice from someone more experienced, you will head down the wrong road and not where you want to be. What I see will eventually determine what I believe. Just because you can't see it with your natural eyes doesn't mean that your imagination can make it real. What you believe will eventually turn into what you see.
Issue 6 | 27
What I see will determine how I spend my days. If you don't see your life getting better, it won't. Sure you may need to ask for help but what type of help? You don't know what to ask for if you have no where to go and nothing you plan to do once your arrive. Correct? So, what do you see? It's not your imagination, your mind can create a world that doesn't yet exist. It may sound like you need a therapist or not mentally 'all there' but that's what invention is, discovery is and thinking "outside the box" really is. What can you imagine? What change do you want to see? What needs do you want to meet with something that hasn't been invented yet? It's possible. Let your mind go. Let your inner explorer come out and create something new. A new normal. A new world. A new you. What is your 20/20 Vision? If you need help figuring it out, let's talk about it.
