FRAGMENTATION
The concept followed is not the literal meaning of fragmentation or fragmenting. It rather focuses on the Spatial understanding in contrast. This has given birth to an interesting transition dotted with a plethora of experiences.
The entrance is subtle and comfortably nestled among greenery, naturally directive due to central positioning. The entrance progresses gently dotted with green semicircular landscaping. The user is provided with a multiple radiating space which directs towards a pathway, living room, guest room and a rear open area. A series of backyards are provided for private and public areas. Bedrooms are kept undisturbed with least intervention from external disturbance / noise. Open kitchen is integrated with formal and informal dining spaces.
VASANTHAM farmhouse Thanjavur A barren land, dotted with a few coconut trees and sparse vegetation gets transformed by a hint of inspiration from the organic style of Geoffrey Bawa. The farmhouse is made interesting by making it appear “out of the earth by itself One of the very first projects in Architecture life. opened up a lots of vistas towards my style of architecture.

site plan
The form evolution is entirely based on the traditional architectural adage “Form Follows Function The living room and dining, which forms the nucleus of the farmhouse is rotated. This action introduces a plethora of interesting spaces around this nucleus. The guest accomodation is kept separately which again creates another buffer verandah in between.
The concept of the landscaping pockets is to create an interesting base from which greenery emerges. Circular pockets and square ones are stable but mainstream, A semicircle is derived from the amalgamation.
MULTI CIRCULATION The entire built structure has an organic naturally paved pathway which acts as a connector between all the Scanned This by CamScanner spaces. arrangement provides with an environment where the user finds himself in multiple immersive spaces in different combinations.
Elements like firangipani are introduced in key locations to induce a feeling of serenity Pathways are coarse natural stones arranged in organic patterns within interstetial courtyards. They are the iconic features of the farmhouse

SCAR MUSEUM Bangalore
SEQUENTIAL UNFOLDING OF SPACES
“The museum is the special feature of this design. All visitors entering the centre, are directed through the museum. This is an implementation of sequential unfolding of spaces.” The form of the museum complements the form of the grocery and the café.
The museum will illustrate the story of each victim in the centre and how he/she turned their life around in Traan, focusing on how the victim emerges a survivor. This is essential in the design as it prevents unnecessary exchanges between the survivor and a visitor. This barred exchange could revive the memories of the attack, for the victim and lead to severe psychological problems. Thus, the museum brings about psychological reevolution.

Concept Sketch
Located in the heart of the state, Trichy is known for its isolated hillocks rising above the surface, the highest of which is the Rockfort; its estimated age of 3,800 million years makes it one of the oldest rocks in the world. Other prominent hillocks include the Golden Rock, Khajamalai, and one each at Uyyakondan Thirumalai and Thiruverumbur. These hillocks usually have a cuboidal periphery wall surrounding a temple nestled at the centre. These cuboidal structures are morphed into the structure of the Shopping mall which is proposed near the Malaikovil, Thiruverumbur. It is mandatory that the building responds to the local context hence the inspired form.

ECO SUSTAINABLE ADAPTABILITY
“Architecture is all about responding to the local context and how efficiently it succeeds in doing that”
“Climate sustainability is achieved by the usage of Stack effect. Usually malls are air conditioned pockets of artificial life but here, the space is made lively by opening up to the elements of nature”

The zoning is done keeping in mind the age groups of the users and services. The spaces are made efficient by allowing the play of elements of nature. The entrance is efficiently placed facing the road. There are a number of buffer spaces which makes the mall interesting. The atrium space is washed with an ample amount of daylight falling through the skylight.

AUDI CAR SHOWROOM Trichy
SPACE - SHAPE SYNTHESIS Circles and rectangles have a pronounced chemistry. This is used in a three dimensional approach in the Car showroom design. This chemistry contributes to the iconicity of the structure. Prime motive s to showcase the various models of cars. The aim is to integrate it with a workshop which has to appear seamless. The first floor acts a major showcase area.
[SPACES]
block massing
The entrance is defined naturally as the two radiating rectangles converge inwardly. Approach is planned in a simple and ideal manner. The key concept of the design is the seamless connection with the workshop which is integrated behind the showroom. The spaces are planned with simple block integration concept as seen in the model on the left. The basic massing is made interesting by the use of levels. The ceiling of the rectangular blocks become the car showcase riser.

TRAAN – niche for growth, a space of change is primarily for acid attack victims, who are incapacitated in our society due to various reasons. They are mainly victims of stereotypical thinking prevalent in the society, and face difficulties medically, psychologically, economically and socially. Direct Interaction has been introduced through café, boutique and grocery where in through commerce, the common people interact with the incapacitated. In spaces such as Amphitheatre, the vocational centre overlooking it, Café involving a visual access from the mess and a care park, indirect interaction is achieved through co-existence. This would increase the number of encounters between them, helping re-evolution of their status in the society breaking the stereotypes of fear, sympathy and discrimination.

the sculpture is the selfless protection provided by The Indian Police Forces. The sculpture fuses the Traditional Indian concepts and our rich ancient cultural Symbolism. The Policemen facing four Cardinal Directions depicts the all round protection provided by them. “They faced a volley of bullets to maintain decorum in every nook and corner. The abstraction was also kept limited so as to convey the valuable perception. The depiction is simple to make sure to cater to the common man’s understanding.” There is a monolithic plethora of Society and related figures in the midst of these four towering Policemen. This also represents their open mindedness and selfless service to protect every being in the society.

PLUG IN URBAN CONCEPT This project is aiming the tourism development of Thangassery which will help the tourism potential of Kollam District. The fishery harbour at Thangassery is a basin for traditional fishermen, achieved by the construction of two breakwaters. The length of the main breakwater is 2100 m. Thangassery is one of the tourist attraction. Lots of local and foreign tourists come to visit the breakwater and light house. The break water extends 2.1km into the sea is one of the evening walkers paradise. Even though Thangassery is one of the tourist’s attractions ofKollam City, there is not much infrastructural development for this area of the city from the view point of tourists activity.

RANDOM RUBBLE MASONRY WITH MUD MORTAR
The project was conceived strictly keeping in view the norms for the conservation of natural heritage of the Banasura Hills and the project area. The mud used for making earthen structure should ideally contain about 20 per cent of clay. And this was available at the property. For the two-storied structures, the use of steel was kept minimal. Using mud to build houses can save our riverbeds from being exploited.” Local tribals were called in for the labour and their expertise in building with mud was also tapped.
INTEGRATING LAKES INTO CITY’S URBAN FABRIC AND ANTHROPOCENE EXPERIENCE CENTRE Coimbatore
Thesis - Dissertation Final year URBAN ANALYSIS + EXP. CENTRE Envisioning lakes as part of the Urban fabric of the city in a Vernacular and natural attempt to renew the City’s Aura which appears to be lost after decades of unplanned growth sprawl. Aim • Reclaiming Public realm • Enhancing tourism potential • Creating awareness on Anthropocene by setting up an Experience centre Objectives: • Knit the lakes together with their surrounding communities thereby transforming lakes from BARRIER TO A CONNECTOR • To re-evolve the Urban scenario with emphasis on breathing lung spaces within city core – Lakes. Hence re-focusing city towards its Identity. • Placemaking and public participation – action plans. • Financial sustainability of the ULBs, PPP modelling, structuring and ring fencing of projects following a consortium approach that ensures end to end tying up of projects to ensure their financial sustainability.
The initiative within the smart city proposal to establish green connectors (non-motorised transport corridors and pedestrian skywalks) around the lakes as a mechanism to remove/prevent encroachments on natural water channels contribute to rethinking the Identity of the City Emphasis has to be on planning land use based on work-living relationships and creation of open breathing lung spaces within the city core. Coimbatore is a very progressive city and open to ideas for city development. Hence public participation will be an added advantage.

Experience centre
A centre to emphasis the Era of Anthropocene. The context of the Centre goes perfectly with the existing condition of the Urban development in the city of Coimbatore. It educates the people about the cruel negative Impact that Mankind has left behind in this planet. The Anthropocene has fast become an academic buzzword and has achieved a degree of public visibility in recent years. But the more the term is used, the more confusion reigns, at least for those not versed in the niceties of the underpinning science.

N SITE PLAN
CMS COLLEGE CONSERVATION Kottayam, Kerala
Gravity Architecture 2018 Ar. Sakthi Murugan Heritage conservation Architect HERITAGE CONSERVATION During the site visit we were accompanied by the Principal Dr. Roy Sam Daniel, who showed around the campus, especially the eight heritage buildings that were identified by the UGC committee as heritage structures due to their age and historicity. The heritage buildings were observed both on the exteriors and the interiors to identify and assess the present condition. Destructive inspection techniques were not used and were beyond the scope of this inspection. The field visit consisted of reviewing the exterior building envelope (the façade from ground level to the roof of all the Eight mentioned buildings), assessing the interior and exterior load bearing wall construction, reviewing the condition, assessing the roof condition from the inside of the building. Some of the structure’s roofing were not approachable, so only exterior observation was feasible. Apart from the buildings the setting and the environment was also reviewed for the understanding of the context
Apart from all the planning aspects the terrain also played a major role in the location and orientation of the buildings. The highly contoured sites requires the buildings to be aligned along the contour lines and on the portion of the slope maximum exposed to the direct sunshine
The triple arched windows are a rich characteristic feature .The pointed pseudo arches and window fenestration styles have a gothic resemblance.
The eastern side of the chapel is interestingly planned with a modest courtyard which acts as a perfect buffer element amalgamating with the adjoining buildlings. But the rainwater drainage into the courtyard is the matter of concern as it has weakened the eastern wall foundation due to stagnation.

CONTEMPORARY RESIDENCE Bangalore
Sankar and Associates 2018 Ar. Sidharth Sankar INTERPLAY OF MATERIAL AND FORM Stage 5
Stage 1 The plan was worked out as per client’s requirements. And the form was naturally moving towards a cuboid pulled upwards. Stage 2 The cuboid underwent a process of functionally feasible additions and subtractions.
Stage 4
Stage 3 The concept was gradually transformed into actual elements of spaces like balconies, fin walls, pergolas, projections, grooves and useful ducts. The balance was very evident and shown to the client. Stage 4 The form was received with criticism and Vastupurush devoured the design by removing the subtractive elements. A column appeared as an uninvited guest which was considered one among the play. Stage 5 Even this was tackled without losing the essence of the design by using semi open fins to complete the cuboid.
Stage 3
SRM COLLEGE FOR AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES Chennai, Tamilnadu
Sankar & Associates 2018 Ar. Sidharth Sankar INSTITUTIONAL The concept was framed keeping in mind the methodology of the great modernist architect of India Ar. Archyut Kanvinde.
The entire campus (15.4 acres) consists of three designated blocks : •Admin Block (G+1) 44,348 sq.ft. •Academic blocks 1&2 (G+3) (80,816 sq.ft.) •Lab Block (G+3) (56,832 sq.ft.) •Farmers training center (G+1) (19,224sq.ft.) •Hostel blocks and canteen The concept is worked out on the old classic “ Sequential Ufolding of spaces ”. All the blocks were designed keeping in mind a unified concept which could tie them together. I modelled the entire campus which was later sent for postprocessing. Several details like projections and recessions were envisioned in a step by step process.
ADMIN BLOCK Semicircular Iconic facade frames the character of the institute. Houses a spacious amphitheatre which acts as a buffer towards the academic block.
ACADEMIC BLOCK Houses classrooms and labs (G+3) Connected on all levels by bridges. The external facade is treated to give a nice concept while shading function is satisfied.
HOSTEL BLOCK Very contemporary according to the client’s needs. The external facade is worked out to give a simple yet modest concept to drive away the mundane vibe.

REFLE PLAN
BOXES OUT OF THE BOX Installation - visual arts studio
CLIMATE RESPONSIVE Chokkmana is a testimony to nature and its consort with human beings, an example of how both these factors can be intertwined melodiously without overshadowing each other. This climatically responsive design using cost efficient building materials in its truest natural form is the epitome of contemporary Organic architecture. OUT OF THE BOX The building breaks off from the conventional with an amalgamation of various features- unplastered surfaces, several levhhels, redefined windows, flowing spaces, materials used etc. Using natural things that are already present in the surroundings as an ingredient is what has been termed, by Christopher Alexander, the ‘Timeless way of building’.
SPACEROOMS
NARI GANDHI TROPHY analysis Architecture, like poetry is a sacred art form, both having the ability to awaken in people, complex emotions. “Chokka Mana” is the product of an artist’s vision and his determination to exact the end result through an impressive creative process. The organization of spaces along with the structure’s constant dialogue with the natural environment, its intimacy with sunlight, wind and various other natural elements is realized in spectacular form.
