Ronald McDonald House® of Western Michigan | Safe • Warm • Dry

Newly finished siding and front porch.

PM Update With just a few weeks left on the schedule, the final touches of the renovation are taking shape!

Finished exterior in back of building.

Renovations on the interior have also progressed well over the last month. Crews completed the remaining guest room phase and have moved to the core of the house which focuses on the main stairwell, back offices and living/sun room. Combined, these areas are the last phase of the project. On a house-wide level, guest rooms have now been fitted with new doors and a new wireless card entry system! Moving forward, crews will continue their work on the core area and transition into final “punch list” items as activity begins to wrap up. Although the completion is in sight, I think I speak for a lot of the people involved with the project when I say it will be a bittersweet ending. Over the past several weeks, major changes have occurred on the exterior of the house. The most noticeable change is the siding, where bright white trim contrasts boldly with bluish-gray dutch lap siding. The front porch also received a facelift with new square columns and modern railing. The old sidewalk leading up to the porch was removed and a new concrete path with a snowmelt system was added in its place. Electricians have also been busy on the exterior, installing new decorative lights, security lights and a new whole house generator.
