Over the past month Elzinga & Volkers has mobilized onsite and presented a site logistics plan in order to coordinate a smooth transition from an active retirement community campus to a construction zone. Jon Hegwer and Dan Faulkner have been present onsite orchestrating daily activities, which include asbestos abatement, construction of temporary walls, salvaging existing doors/hardware and trade contractor scheduling. Temporary construction fencing has been installed, limiting access for the active campus to the surrounding construction site and the Benson Office Building. Moving forward, the Benson Office Building balconies and the connector bridge will be demolished in preparation for the demolition of the South Wing. Finally, we would like to thank all UMRC staff and residents for your patience during our fiber optics relocation shutdown that took place on October 28th!
