BUILDINGTOGETHER
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CONNECTION: A "SWEET 16"!!!! WOW! 2016 went down faster than a Joe Nova wiffle ball throw! It was a total blur wasn’t it?! This past Saturday, I got up at my usual 4 a.m, but with no deer to hunt, job to go to or my sleeping wife making me “do something,” I sat with the lights out, sipping my coffee and reflecting. I realized what a great year it’s been for me personally and professionally! I’ll spare you the parts about me, but the things WE accomplished at E&V in 2016 were truly extraordinary! Your personal accomplishments are so numerous, I didn’t have enough room, so I am going to focus on company awards and achievements. Check these out! alive365 3500days
SWEET 2016! WE achieved all of these great things, NOT because of our newly renovated digs. NOT because of the newest technology we’ve implemented. And certainly NOT because of anything any one individual is responsible for. The true reason is YOU! ALL OF YOU! YOU made all these awards and achievements possible! There is NO construction company in West Michigan (and probably far beyond) with as fine of employees as we have right here at lil’ ol’ E&V! Congratulations and thank you all for making my 2016, one of the most rewarding of my (very long) career! Have a great Christmas and enjoy the holiday season. I can’t wait to see what “SWEET” things are ahead for us in 2017! Tony Roussey VP of Operations

Follow Linda through a typical, busy day!
6:45 to 8:00 AM » First thing I do after pressing my final, third snooze is check my account balances, after saying a little prayer. » I listen to Elvis Duran and The Morning radio show while I get ready; they really know how to wake me up! » Dominic (15) starts the car for me after he’s ready. » I set out hubby’s lunch and little guy’s snack (Roman, 10) before we head out the door by 7:30. » During our ten-minute ride, I go over any after school expectations I have for Roman. Sometimes I am lucky to run into Norma’s wonderful face on my way in and we quickly catchup before she gives me a nice send off.
8:00 to 8:45 AM » I usually grab coffee first thing (thank you early AM coffee fairies!). » I check my box and email for AIA contracts so I can get them off my desk to await signatures. I re-prioritize my day based on any new emails and anything leftover from the day before. » I check in with my team to see if there’s anything pressing or to let them know my workload and availability.
9:00 AM to Noon » I am ready to get into my groove, so I put my earphones in, tune into Dave Ramsey’s podcasts and start working off of my “To Do’s,” which usually consist of Change Orders, Purchase Orders, AIA Contracts and chasing down trades. » I am usually starving by midmorning so I snack on chicken salad and crackers at my desk. Update from Tara: Nolan recently had an MIBG scan, a scope of his GI tract and a feeding tube placed. The MIBG scan will determine how much radiation he will need in early January. This testing required sedation, so there was some concern since Nolan has been fighting a cold, but he did well. It became a little too much for him toward the end so they gave him oxygen to finish the procedure. For now they continue to pray...for healing, appetite and that we can be home for Christmas.

Linda Kolean
» By this time, I’ve connected with the hubs, usually hassling him about his honey-do list, or what he’d like for dinner. I eat leftovers or a frozen dinner at my desk, or occasionally in the field guys lunch room, for a change of scenery. I chat with the guys for a little bit and they share stories, which I really enjoy. » I continue to chug along. I run into new and unfamiliar tasks, so I seek Julie out for assistance. » I am usually listening to music by this time of day since I’ve “earned” it. Toward the end of the day I prep my work for the next day and assign myself “To Do’s” and reminders on hanging items that I am waiting on.
Project Coordinator Outside of work, Linda enjoys trying new recipes with Dave and jogging new trails, which has been a lot of fun. She and the boys also enjoy calling out Bingo at the Rest Haven Retirement Home.
Late Evening
4:30 to 5:30 PM » I am lucky if I have not made any appointments and can pick up Roman from the Boys and Girls Club right after work. » Roman shares stories from that day and begs me to not stop by the grocery store.
5:30 to 7:30 PM » I make dinner and the boys and I try to wait for Dave unless he is working late. » We go over anything that the boys need from us (lunch money, signing papers, chapstick, etc.). » I throw in a load of laundry and remind the boys about their chores.

“Twas the Night Before Christmas E & V ST YL E
‘Twas approaching the close of twenty sixteen. Let’s take a look back at all we’ve accomplished and seen. So sit back, relax, and take it all in, As we reflect on a year we consider a win.
Due to your dedication, we’ve almost achieved 3,500 days, Yet, we continue to aim for more safe ways. Our partners and families continue to strive For ways to strengthen Alive 365.
Our hardworking ethics brew in our blood, Over a thousand projects this year; not one was a dud. Thanks to both new and repeat clients, We’re busier than ever with all our assignments.
We compete every year for the highest of awards, Thanks to our great team, these are attainable to reach toward. More than the trophies that sit on our shelf, We’re here for our people and not for ourselves.
From Michigan to California and states in between, EV Group has seen quite a bump in twenty sixteen. Due to all the hard work, we hit a record of hours billed, And pleased are our clients with the positions we filled.
Anxiously awaiting the release of our book, 70 years in the making, you’ll want to take a look. We pride ourselves on people, projects and passion galore Each turn of the page will leave you wanting for more.
From demo, to concrete and carpentry, then steel, It’s been a busy year; we know how you feel. It will be hard to beat (concrete). Let’s not forget firestopping and interiors too, We don’t know where we’d be without all of you.
Our company culture has the determination to go the extra mile, With the goal to provide all with experiences that leave them with a smile. A big happy family is what we want to be, And that is what we call Unmistakably E and V.
Take a look around at all the new faces, Throughout the last year, we’ve filled all empty spaces, Welcoming 7 teeny babies, 2 friendly spouses, and 14 new staff, Wishes for growth and success on your behalf.
With the goal of spreading our experience and mission, We look forward to our new corporate acquisition. Stay tuned as we grow to the south and the east, We’ll keep you in the loop once the news is released.
Family involvement is what makes it fun, We laughed at Michigan’s Adventure and got soaked at the Mud Run. Work life blending is what it’s about, To create a great culture both inside and out.
We’re humbled that you all have gathered here, A huge thanks is in order for such a great year. You’re the reason we’re here to celebrate, All the successes this year, to you we dedicate.
E&V has been blessed beyond expectation, So we share with others the rewards of our dedication. Employees and families have had many opportunities To reach organizations in surrounding communities.
Another year is coming to an end, that’s just how it goes, With all the great things, it’s hard to see it close. As another year approaches, success is foreseen, I can’t wait to see what happens in twenty-seventeen.
