& CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CONNECTION: BEING AWARD WORTHY Just like popular movies, music and TV, the West Michigan construction industry has its own award season, and that time of year is upon us. Most of you are aware of our recent recognition for the Safety Award of Excellence from our local ABC Chapter. This award singles out Elzinga & Volkers for its outstanding safety programs and record. Most recently, we learned that we are now an Accredited Quality Contractor through ABC National. We are very proud of all your efforts in achieving the award and the accreditation. Coming up on October 13th, Elzinga & Volkers is also one of eight contractors nominated by the American Subcontractors Association of West Michigan for the Michigan Contractor of the Year award. We have been nominated every year since we won in 2012 and we are always recognized in the top three. This

award acknowledges our relationship with our trade partners and the work of all our team members in running safe, high quality projects with high integrity. This award is highly coveted among our West Michigan competitors. The awards that we have received, and been nominated for, are great and our competitive spirit is high during this time of year, but we also maintain that win or lose, we will always strive to be “award worthy” even if we don’t win. Being award worthy means our people, programs and projects are all operating as well as they possibly can. Nothing is perfect, so even with the recognition of an award or accolade, we will continue to hone or craft and deliver a product that is truly worthy of the recognition that we have received. Congratulations everyone!
