SAFETY IS A MORAL OBLIGATION SAFETY CULTURE Elzinga & Volkers is a nationally recognized leader in construction safety. We have earned numerous awards for our efforts, but the best reward of all is keeping our entire staff free of lost time injuries for over twelve years.
ON-SITE SAFETY EXECUTION Elzinga & Volkers will tightly manage contractor safety on the site. This is a primary responsibly of our Field Manager with assistance from our Safety Leadership Team.
Aside from having confidence that workers and staff around your project site will be safe, close attention to safety translates directly to higher quality workmanship, communication and efficiency. We believe that all aspects of a well-run project start with safety.
NATIONAL SAFETY AWARDS For two years running, Elzinga & Volkers has been recognized as a national leader in construction safety. Attention to safety on the jobsite positively affects the quality and efficiency of our projects while sending everyone home healthy each day.
Internally, Tony Roussey, COO, is the acting Safety Director. He brings over 50 years of leadership experience in construction safety to our Safety Leadership Council (SLC). The SLC consists of Tony Roussey, Senior Field Manager Scott Wondergem, Safety Coordinator Kelsie Oswald, and third-party safety auditor Seth Wehner. All our in-house safety personnel are full-time. Elzinga & Volkers is very proud of the safety culture we have instilled in our people and partners, but we are not perfect. In an effort to continually improve our safety program and introduce new perspective into our organization, Elzinga & Volkers utilizes a team of outside consultants to perform random, unannounced safety audits of our project sites. Our safety consultant, Seth Wehner with SW MGT, has over 15 years of experience in construction safety and works with contractors all over the country creating world class safety programs. Seth is an authorized OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour instructor, is level one MIOSHA certified, and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Seth is an integral part of our safety team!
