BUILDINGTOGETHER HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Happy holidays to each of you and your families! This is the time of year when I was a kid that never came fast enough. I could not wait for Thanksgiving to be over so we could start the journey towards Christmas! As the years pass, the seasons seem to come and go more quickly than ever. Now, a far distance from my childhood, I have steadily grown to greatly appreciate each and every moment of this season. Thanksgiving is a holiday that we at E&V believe in living on a regular basis. In fact, each Friday morning at 9:00 am anyone that is in the office, including visitors and guests, are invited to a sort of celebration that we call our “Savoring our Successes” meeting. It’s a gathering to share a collective inventory of all we are grateful for in our personal, family and business lives. It’s a weekly “Thanksgiving” celebration with muffins and yogurt as substitutions for turkey and dressing! Christmas also holds a special place for me. The seasonal music, calorie-laden food, Hallmark Channel’s “classic movies”, the giving and receiving of gifts and an abundance of fellowship are all things I enjoy immensely. At the core of course, we celebrate the birth of Jesus;

the ultimate gift to us all from our Heavenly Father! Christmas is also an opportunity to experience meaningful connection with those around us. It is such a time of joy, why are we not more intentional about creating meaningful connections throughout the year? On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to express our gratitude and thanksgiving to all of our team members. Each of you are a gift to E&V. You have given tirelessly, allowing us to recognize yet another successful year. We would like to acknowledge your families too. Their direct and indirect support and understanding is invaluable and an important element of our success. May you each have a happy, safe and blessed holiday season. We look forward to the opportunities and challenges that await our company in 2019.

THANKS FOR YOUR HARD WORK! We recently wrapped up on the first phase of construction at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon which included, among other things, the main entry area, chapel and other public spaces. Work included detailed and intricate carpentry work with our Interiors team providing a high end finish. We were under a tight deadline that was near impossible to make, but with a great effort from our team – including working around the clock for a stretch – we were able to finish the space on time and deliver a high level of quality. Many thanks to all of those involved who worked long hours and sacrificed nights and weekends to get it done. Great job! Dan Jenema Field Manager BUILDINGTOGETHER | November 2018
