Completed Library Renovation
Greetings! While winter has finally made an appearance, construction has continued to appear and reappear around the campus. Over the last month, the 1st phase of structural shoring has been completed and removed. I am happy to report that the Library, Mini Mart and Board Room have opened back up to the residents and we have shifted our shoring efforts to phase 2 which includes the mouse pad and the utility corridor by the employee locker rooms. On the 2nd floor (East) Epworth, framing has begun and the layouts of the new independent living apartments are starting to take shape. On the 2nd floor (West) Oxford, demolition continues to progress on making way for the new structural work taking place around the mouse pad and utility corridor. By early February most of our demolition should be complete with framing starting shortly thereafter. On the 3rd floor (West) Bristol, demolition is wrapped up for the most part with the exception of making way for the new structural work. The new structural work will make its way up from the 1st floor through the 2nd and 3rd floor to support the layout of the new independent living apartment. This work is scheduled to be completed by mid-February. Overall we have seen some minor delays with the structural work due to unforeseen conditions with the masonry walls and the above ceiling conditions such as water lines, piping and duct work blocking the areas that need shoring. With that being said, we have a great team of trade partners who have been very timely with re-routing this items that are in the way to keep the delays to a minimum. Stay tuned for next month’s update as progress continues to roll on.
TRADE CONTRACTOR
SPOTLIGHT Total Fire Protection This month we would like to recognize Total Fire Protection for being an outstanding trade partner. Although Total Fire Protection is just getting rolling on the bigger part of the project they have been involved in many other areas. They have been quick to respond to our needs here at Clark with capping lines in the way of our shoring and moving sprinkler heads. Thank you guys for making it happen!
