Backsplash Installation
Summertime if finally here! School is out and road construction season is in full swing with schedule delays everywhere. On a positive note, much to our satisfaction, our project continues to track right on schedule as we wrap up this month and head into July. Outside of the building, progress has ramped up with the recent string of good weather. If you have walked around the building you probably have noticed the new balconies going up on the exterior. These balconies created a unique challenge to the construction team. With each one weighing approximately 1,300 pounds, the anchor points in which they attached to the building had to be specifically designed to ensure that the balconies will remain in place once installed. This took a lot of behind the scenes coordination between the engineer and the construction team, and I can confidently say that these new balconies will stand the test of time. Inside the building we continue to see great progress daily. On the 2nd floor East, the team spent the last month installing all the cabinets, trim work and doors in the new apartments. Along with that, the team began adding some color to the space by getting the first coat of paint on in a handful of the new apartments. In the coming weeks the crews will be working on the finishing touches to complete this phase by the end of July. On the 2nd floor West, all the drywall has been hung and crews have started to work on finishing. Also, our team of skilled carpenters was able to begin installing the trim inside a few of the new apartments which keeps our progress rolling right along. On the 3rd floor West, mechanical, electrical and plumbing roughin’s have been completed with the exception of some above ceiling work. With the majority of the rough-in’s complete, we were also able to begin hanging drywall throughout. By the end of July we will see a big change on the 3rd floor as this phase will shift into some of the finish work.
