Ramp Demolition Exit 18
Where has the time gone? Spring is quickly fading towards summer and the project is charging towards the September finish line. Three and a half months from now all 22 apartments will be completed and the new residents we begin settling into their new accommodations, an exciting time for all of us! Exit 19 on the west side of the building is all but complete with some finish work that will take place towards the end of the project. To the north, Exit 18, on the Sherman Street side of the building is now in full construction mode. Last month, crews were able to demolish the old ramp, stairs and brick overhang. This allows for the new grand staircase to begin, giving this side of the building a nice face lift. Inside the building, progress continues to charge on as well. On the 2nd floor East, the drywall has been completed and the resident units are starting to be primed for paint. Along with that, installation of the new trim and casing has begun as well as setting many of the kitchen cabinets. The 2nd floor East phase continues to be on track for its end of July completion. On the 2nd floor West, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins have been completed and drywall is being hung throughout the phase. Last month I mentioned that we had broken this phase into 3 mini-phases, doing so has allowed for a great flow of the project and a smooth transition up to the 3rd floor West. On the 3rd floor West, framing has been completed with mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins will continue to press on through the early part of June with drywall starting shortly thereafter. Stay tuned for next month’s update! Nick Novakoski, Project Manager
TRADE CONTRACTOR
SPOTLIGHT I would like to recognize Doug from Hurst Mechanical for leading the effort towards mechanical rough ins in the new independant living apartments. There definitely was some pressure to make sure the MEP rough ins stayed on schedule at Clark. Doug pulled in more guys to get his portion done on time. It’s a joy to work with guys like Doug that work hard, meet deadlines and just do what it takes to get the job done. Nice work Doug!
