Looking Ahead Extension Cord Safety Guidelines Mike Chrisman, Field Manager mikeC@elzinga-volkers.com | 616-610-9313
Phase 1 Progress Update:
» Tile for our new 19 resident room bathrooms and showers is nearly complete. » Cabinets and counters are being installed. » Handrails, doors, and hardware are being installed. » State BFS and HFES final inspections are coming up soon. » All the new beds and furniture for 19 new re-hab rooms will be delivered and set up soon.
Extensions cords are used everywhere on construction sites. Normal wear and tear on cords can loosen or expose wires. Cords that are not 3-wire type, were not designed for hard use, or have been modified, increase the risk of contacting an electrical current. Here are some guidelines that Elzinga & Volkers uses to regulate the use of extension cords: » Use only equipment that meets OSHA standards » Do not modify or use cords incorrectly » Use factory-assembled cords and only use the 3-wire type » Remove cords from receptacles by pulling on the plugs, not the cord.
