Phase 1 is Complete!

Phase 1 is complete and occupied. State inspections went smoothly as did the furniture move-in. We have an issue with hot water delivery we are working on resolving.

Asbestos abatement is underway in Phase 2 and going well.

Looking Ahead Third Party Safety Consultant Visits

Mike Roney, Field Manager miker@elzinga-volkers.com | 586-482-4102 »» Phase 2 has started with abatement and we will be diligently working on the rough framing and MEPs after the Memorial Day holiday. »» Now that the weather is cooperating we can make some headway on exterior improvements.

Elzinga & Volkers has a contract with a third party safety consultant who makes visits to our construction sites as project scopes warrant or at a manager’s request.

Our consultant audits the site for current and upcoming safety violations and potential risks. A summary from each visit is shared with our trade contracting team stating, not only safety concerns, but what the teams are doing well. This third party consultant does not fine companies for safety violations, but focuses more on protecting worker safety and helping contractors avoid costly write-ups from organizations like MiOSHA, the state occupational safety authority.

These audits save time, money and, most importantly, the lives of workers on-site.

Mike has had many years of experience in the construction industry where he has worked on several multi-family developments, commercial, and medical projects. He has two children, ages 21 and 18. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, bike riding and meeting new friends and getting together with old friends.
