The Look Ahead
We are currently final-cleaning and punching-out Phase I. Furniture is being moved in and next week the new space will be occupied. Looking ahead to Phase II presents another set of challenges that we are ready to tackle, including work in the CMM Lab and another set of restrooms. Along with that, the training room and additional offices will be updated. Ryan Geurink, Field Manager 616.821.0519
Executive Summary
Things are happening fast! Only a short time ago the concrete saws and jack hammers were on-site tearing up concrete floors and removing masonry walls for the renovation of Phase I. We are now nearing Phase I completion and preparing the space for Ridgeview to move in furniture and fixtures. As Phase II begins, the saws and hammers start back up and we will prepare to remove concrete floors for the plumbing and new restrooms on the west end of the building. As in Phase I, most of the interior partitions and existing flooring will be removed and replaced in Phase II, along with upgrades to the HVAC, electrical systems and lighting. Stay tuned as Phase II starts to take shape! Clayton Martin, Project Manager 616.392.2383
Did You Know?
In the 3 Mile Renovation project, Parkway Electric will install approximately 216 new light fixtures that contain energy efficient fluorescent bulbs. Approximately 25% of your home electric bill goes to lighting, and about 17% of global electricity is used for lighting. The base technology in an incandescent light bulb hasn’t changed much since Thomas Edison invented it back in 1879, but new energy efficient technologies such as compact fluorescent (CFL) and LED bulbs are slowing gaining popularity. Switching to these “green” bulbs in your home can offer you significant electric bill savings and a cleaner earth. SUBCONTRACTOR
SPOTLIGHT This month’s subcontractor spotlight goes to our design-build subcontracting partners: Parkway Electric, Godwin Plumbing and Heating, Total Fire Protection and Accurate Plumbing. Each of these groups have been with us from the start in planning, designing and specifying the HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing that is currently being installed in the renovation. Thanks to each of you for helping make Phase I a success!
