Siding removal and new window installation
PM Update The month of June brought in a flurry of activity on site. Over the past several weeks, construction crews have been on top of, alongside of, and inside of the house!
Removal of the front porch columns
In the upcoming weeks we will complete phase 7, which is the last set of guest rooms. The focus will then be set towards the renovation of the main entry, stairwell/ living room space and the remaining offices. On the exterior, the siding work will continue, along with the installation of the new snow melt system and whole house generator. We are certainly excited to see another month of progress behind us and look forward to the great work yet to come! Brett Lesiewicz, Project Manager brettl@elzinga-volkers.com

Picking up from our last report, the new roofing on both the Barn and the House is now installed. Sparing no time after the completion of the roof, workers took advantage of the dry weather conditions and removed all of the siding, clearing the path for the window crews. To date, nearly all of the 80 plus replacement windows have been installed. A new building wrap now protects the house from intermediate weather as the new windows receive exterior trim in preparation for the new siding. Adding to the activity on the exterior of the house was the removal of the front porch columns. Although seemingly timid in their resting state, these steel columns put up a fight during their removal, requiring the use of oxy/acetylene torches! On the inside, two more groups of guest rooms were completed, along with other mechanical, fire alarm and security upgrades throughout the house.
