Safety Spotlight So we all enjoy listening to our favorite songs on the radio, and listening to our must watch television shows right? So then when we are at work we should certainly protect our ability to hear correctly! Ear Safety, like all aspects of safety is aimed at keeping ourselves and our senses safe from danger and/or permanent damage while working under extreme circumstances. On any construction site, you are surrounded by constant loud noises. There are many different styles of ear protection depending on the project, but the most important aspect of ear safety is just being aware of the risk before you start any work. Once the damage is done, it can be long lasting or even permanent!

Executive Summary Sneak Peaks...

Welcome to another addition of Building Together. Progress onsite has continued and we have reached some exciting milestones! On the exterior of the building, siding installation is progressing around the building and adding some great color to façade. The siding and a metal cap at the roof are the last remaining items on the building envelope, a term we use to describe the parts of the building that keep the water and weather out. Work is also starting in the courtyard, which will become a real focal point for residents and guests. Inside the building, there is a combination of four major trades working in different areas of the building. Crews from ACP, Inc. are finishing up the final sections of drywall and drywall finishing. Contracting is moving quickly through the building with primer and paint. CIR, our flooring contractor is busy working on the tile showers in each resident room. Last but not least, carpenters from Elzinga & Volkers and Peter Building are installing doors, door hardware and wall protection. One of the most exciting additions to the project has been the completion of our model room. The model is currently being used to pre-sell units in the building. It is exciting for the team to see a completed room and have a chance to, “work out any bugs” now before completing the other 65 rooms in the building. - John Parker, Project Manager jparker@elzinga-volkers.com www.elzinga-volkers.com
