MIL TON LENNO X MILT LENNOX 1935-2015 The GLBT has lost an amazing friend and long time pioneer for Grand Rapid, and actually ALL of Michigan. Milt and his Life partner, of 51 years, Edward Ladner were also partners in business for 40 years. Milt and Ed are the original owners of The APARTMENT LOUNGE. Metra remembers talking to Milt when they were choosing who they would pick to carrying on the legend of the Apartment Lounge, one name kept coming up Bobby J. We did not know who Bob Johnson was at the time. But, they differently did. After all is said and done, they were right, Bobby J is just the person to pass over their legacy and keep the APARTMENT LOUNGE going just the way they set it up for 40 years. You see, they were NOT going to sell their “baby” to just anyone, you had to be the right person to pass the torch! Thanks to Milt and Eds good judgement they chose Bobby J, and now we all will be able to continue enjoying The Apartment Lounge, for many years to come. Bob Johnson also helped set up this amazing Day… The Mayor of Grand Rapids has proclaimed October 8th as MILTON LENNOX Day in the City of Grand Rapids! That will always be a special Holiday on our calendar. RIP Milt, until we meet again.
