By Auntie M4Doro@ aol.com Well, here we go with the Gay Pride issue, beginning with Ferndale Pride Celebration presented by Candle & Wick Shoppe is June 2nd the main stage events sponsored by Motor City Casino and hosted by Bentley James with an all day scheduled array of artist and events also with many information booths, vendors both merchandize and foods & soft drinks. Then on June 8th thru 10th it’s Motor City Pride Festival and Parade, downtown at Hart Plaza again with vendors, information booths, beer tent, and dancing on the lower level with some of Metropolitan Detroit’s area DJ’s, also a with special performers, Martha Reeves, Tiffany and “Sabin’s Drag Revue” and over 100 more performers. Saturday’s events start at 1- 9 PM and Sunday noon – 7PM the Parade noon, is on Sunday June 10th. Also there is the Blue Water Area Gay Pride in Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan Pride Celebrations also in Grand Rapids, and Lansing areas. There is our sister city Chicago Gay Pride starts in June and with the Biggest Gay Parade in the Midwest on June, 24th, what can I say but the whole damn city, and clubs, bars and eateries are in party mode for the entire month. Oh, by the way Daddy’s Day is June 7th and there will be lots of clubs celebrating on that Day. …MICHIGAN Ann Arbor: NECTO (734-994-5436), presents a Pride Celebration on June 8th with “SHARON NEEDLES” with the first show at 9:45PM and the encore at 12AM. Also NECTO PRIDE Fridays presents on June 15th it’s their “Pride Prom: Witches and Wizards” with a prom King and Queen contest at Midnight. Doors open at 9PM for both events 18+ welcome with $10 door charge for those 18-20, and $5 for those 21+ located at 516 E. Liberty St. Detroit: BODY ZONE (313-366-9663), would like to wish everyone a Happy Pride Month, and to start things off they’re having their infamous “BLACK-OUT” Party on Friday, June 8th and as always what happens in the dark stays in the dark!
