From the Blow-out and Bonfire to the big game with packed stands and halftime festivities, 2016 was a Homecoming of Olympic proportion! While the varsity score didn’t favor the Braves, it was a podium finish for the fans and a gold medal for spirit!

• Saved from the bell! A new schedule called for a later start time (9 am!) and no bells.

Expanded technology functions throughout the 100 wing, gave an instructional boost, especially in the newly appointed seminar-style classroom when explaining complex supply and demand in Econ—a new course for 2016-17.

We welcomed a visit from General Councilors from Rome, Br. Gustavo Ramirez and Br. Rafa Matas. This visit was part of their Lasallian tour of North America, to deepen their understanding of how association for the mission is lived around the world.

• Braves Mock Trial named county champs for 4th straight year to earn a place at the state competition.

The rainiest winter in years presented plenty of water for our parched earth, rainbows, some challenges in the form of rained-out games and detours on the roads and only one canceled day of class!

Thank you to all who attended, served at, volunteered for, and made possible the 32nd annual Crab Fest. It was a great evening celebrating the Justin-Siena community, and we are grateful for such support!

The cast of “Sister Act” enjoyed a Skype session with the author of the stage musical and took that inspiration straight to the stage.

• 6 alums returned to campus in the form of mentors during the 24-Hour Plays.

Congrats to our theatre students for a 100% pass rate on their performance exams with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Not only did all 20 pass, but they all passed with Merit or Distinction. We are the only licensed testing center in NorCal, and were the 1st stop on their American tour.

More on our Grads . . . We wish we had the space to talk about every one of them, but these tidbits should serve to illustrate their breadth of talent, passion, and heart.

Braves spring sports highlights: girls lacrosse advanced to semi-finals of MCAL Playoffs, # 2 seed in NCS; boys lacrosse qualified for MCAL Playoffs and NCS; softball qualified for NCS; girls track girls finished 3rd in MCAL and boys finished 6th.

• After Justin-Siena, 8 students will be continuing their Lasallian journeys in colleges run by the Brothers. • One student is following the call to serve as a firefighter and will spend the next two years training at Butte. •

Several athletes signed letters with NCAA programs from all three divisions, including one on scholarship to play quarterback at Oregon State.

• They will be studying all over the world, from Canada, to Scotland, to Rome. • Two of our students are following their passions to L.A. to study fashion and design.

With nearly 50 institutions represented at the Spring Out-of-State College Fair, students had access to a wide variety of colleges and universities and took full advantage of talking to and making connections with Regional Reps.

Our engineering program continues to shine! Braves took the Project Lead the Way Chevron Design Challenge for the third year in a row.

Building community through art! Our Justin-Siena curatorial team put together a juried visual show in the Spotlight Gallery at the Napa Valley Museum involving student works from 6 area schools.

Please pray for the Class of 2017 as they begin these next chapters in their lives. If you run into them, please congratulate them and continue to encourage them. As you are out and about in Napa, Solano, and Sonoma— or in places far away—please take time to brag about them. And if you live in one of their new communities, please contact us so that we can connect you—it would mean the world to have family so far away.
