The 2022 MLB season is now only a few days away from hitting the All-Star break. With the uno cial halfway point of the season almost here, it is the perfect time to review everything that has happened this year. The AL East race is virtually locked up with the Yankees winning 62 of their rst 89 games. The other four teams in the division all have winning records thanks to a huge surge by the Baltimore Orioles. This has created a fascinating wild card race in the American League. It would not be shocking to see this division have four playo teams. The Minnesota Twins are reaping huge rewards from revamping their roster in the o season. They hold a slim lead over Cleveland and Chicago at the top of the AL Central division. The White Sox are nally starting to play up to their potential, so look for them to make a second-half surge. The AL West is another division race that is essentially over already, with the Angels completely collapsing the last two months. Seattle still has a long way to go to catch

Houston, but an 11-game winning streak has put the Mariners back in the wild card hunt. It looked like the Mets would run away with the NL East at the end of May, but the Braves have been the best team in baseball since the start of June. This recent surge puts the defending champs only two games out of rst. This is a two-team race, but Philadelphia is still in the hunt for a playo spot. The NL Central has been an absolute train wreck with three teams tanking. The Brewers and Cardinals have battled for rst place all season, but the weak division schedule has boosted the records of both teams. Injuries have prevented the Dodgers from playing up to expectations, but they still have the best record in the National League. San Diego looks to have a playo spot locked up after playing great baseball without their best player. The Giants are clearly the thirdbest team in the NL West, but they still have a great shot at the playo s.
