Flight delays when traveling may seem inevitable sometimes, but there are still things you can do to avoid them during your next trip. There’s no guarantee that you won’t be a ected by a ight cancellation or delay, but you can at least make them less likely to a ect you. First of all, try booking ights early in the morning. Flight delays tend to cause other delays and cancellations throughout the day, but most airports can usually get their rst few ights o the ground without much trouble. This does mean that you’ll need to get to the airport very early in the morning, but it beats having to wait a couple of extra hours for a late ight. Next, try to avoid connecting ights whenever you can. If you need to catch a connecting ight and your rst ight is delayed, you could end up missing your second ight. If you must book a connecting ight, try to give yourself a couple of hours between ights, just in case there are issues with your rst ight.

Finally, if you absolutely cannot a ord to miss an event, try to get to your destination early. Book an earlier ight than you think you’ll need. If that ight is delayed, you should still be able to make it to your event on time. Even if your ight is canceled, you should have plenty of time to book another ight. What To Do When Your Flight is Canceled A delayed ight is frustrating, but you shouldn’t have any problems as long as you plan ahead. On the other hand, cancellations are another issue entirely. If your ight is canceled, you need to act quickly. Head to the ight agents’ desk as soon as you can. If you nd yourself standing in line, get on the phone with your airline to see if you can speak with someone before you get to the desk. You might be able to solve your problem before you have to speak to someone face-to-face. You should hopefully be able to book another ight or at least nd someplace to stay for the night if you’re away from home.
