Have you noticed? We’ve got new blood designing our super gorgeous beauty mag! The sun and the longer days have injected that needed spring in our step. But now it’s summer... Time to unwind and view the world with #nofilter. My favourite Maltese word is ‘Ħedla’; I can’t seem to find an accurate translation for it in the few other languages I’ve mastered. For me, ‘Ħedla’ is the perfect feeling the Maltese Summer gives you. It’s a reason to relax (or no valid reason to work hard...), but as we all know, beauty never sleeps. So, in between those dips in the oh-so-therapeutic sea and meditative moments reading Just Beauty Magazine on a sunbed at Riviera listening to the waves crashing in, we blow dry all that long hair and paint those toe nails and rub those fabulously scented oils into our clients’ backs.

We give our beauty family that extra inch on their confidence measure, and that extra oomph on their scales. But please, do remember to pack this mag in your beach bags... Stay on top of things and shine...

For a dull Maltese summer is a thing of pure fiction.

Creative Conditioning Permanent Colour by Z.one Concept Milk_shake’s renowned formula of natural ingredients can be found not just in its sought-after styling and shampoo ranges, but also in the limitless palette of creative conditioning permanent colours its leading stylists have to offer.

Miss Malta 2015 We were on absolute tenterhooks for the 6th of June to arrive, as must have been the 20 finalists of this year’s Miss Malta. After a long and difficult selection, twenty girls have been called to show to the national audience not only their exterior beauty, but also their intellectual capacities, sympathy and ability to speak in public. The title was won by Miss Balzan, Sarah Mercieca, followed

by Miss Gzira, Nicola Grixti, in second place and Miss St. Paul’s Bay, Louisa Abela, in third place. All of the three finalists will be representing Malta in an international beauty pageant, while Miss Balzan, Sarah Mercieca, will certainly be raising her profile during the coming year.

Congratulations to Miss Malta 2015 and the organisers of the event, Glow Promotions.

World Next Top model MALTA 2015 Following the initial call for applications, thirty models were chosen. These young ladies were featured on a three-month programme which was aired every Sunday on One TV at 4.30pm. During the programme, the models participated in several activities, together with a themed photo session each.

The final night for World Next Top Model Malta 2015 was held on the 28th of March at the MFCC won by Christine Mifsud. On the 14th of May, after winning the crown, Miss Mifsud headed to her 3 week journey in Lebanon representing Malta. The World Next Top Model Final was held on the 6th of June, where 45 countries competed for this prestigious title. The contestants participated in various activities, photo shoots and cultural visits. Whilst on her journey in Lebanon, Christine has also been selected by various sponsors to be their model during her stay in Beirut.

25 year old Katrina Pavia from Victoria, Gozo was crowned winner of Miss World Malta by Pallini 2015, held at Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta.

This year was the nineteenth edition of this national contest, which was organised by Modelle International, under the direction of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja. This is the only contest which entitles a Maltese representative to participate in the Miss World International Beauty Pageant.

The finals of Miss World will be held later on this year in Melbourne, Australia, where Malta will be participating alongside another 140 countries, in front of 2.5 billion TV viewers.

Katrina Pavia had the chance to wear a new crown sponsored by Victor Azzopardi Jewellers, besides winning other vouchers and gifts. She was also awarded the title of ‘Piccinino Model’, sponsored by J.Piccinino Ltd, ‘Miss Personality’ and the prestigious title of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, which was dedicated to Dr Klown.
