ACKNOWLEDGEMENT An endeavour over a period can be successful only with the advice and support of well wishers. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to all those who encouraged me during this time period of 2 months and to NIFT for giving me an opportunity to work in the industry. I am ineffably indebted to my industry mentor, Mr Sudhir Singh who took immense interest and responsibility in increasing my knowledge about the industry and gave me the opportunity to work under his guidance and supervision during this project I express my profound and sincere thanks to Ms. Brahmpreet Kaur who was more like a friend than a mentor and helped me during my internship through her excellent guidance and constant inspiration. I also extend thanks to the entire Sanjay Shukla team of Triburg for their keen help and cooperation during the journey of my internship and colleagues who have supported me in this endeavour. Special thanks to my faculty and my mentor, Ms Nayanika Thakur. This project would not have been possible without her ceaseless guidance, encouragement, trust and support

PREFACE Internship is an integral and basic requirement of design students for getting the chance to experience the industry first hand. It is aimed at providing the Fashion Design students with a professional design experience by familiarising them with a working knowledge of the functioning of the apparel industry and the relationship between design production. It also equips us with the necessary knowledge, skills and work ethics which are the basic requirements of the industry. For this reason I was placed as an intern in Triburg for the time period of two months. It was an experience through which I gained a lot of knowledge, found me strengths and realised my weaknesses. I also learnt how not to be affected by my drawbacks and how to work around them. During the whole duration I was thoroughly briefed about the process of designing in a buying house and was motivated to work on the same. I consider myself lucky to have been under the mentorship of such knowledgeable and experienced people who constantly guided me and appreciated my work.

The design studio at Triburg, that holds several VM setups for the buyers along with the traditional presentations, makes a strong impact on them, giving them on in depth interactions with he company, thus making them choose Triburg over any other of its competitors.
18 TRIBURG///
WORK ENVIRONMENT
All the designers sit in the design studio on ground floor whereas teams are assigned a certain place on the floors above which is the workplace of merchandisers and business heads. Most of the work done here is time sensitive, there are deadlines to be met, packages to be sent, designing to be done. To an outsider it may seem frantic but that is what the industry is all about - right product at right time to the right place. With great infrastructure and team spirit, the working environment gives a great assistance for the work procedure to be the way it is. Working in tubing was a serious and fun process simultaneously and thus encouragement and enthusiasm was felt throughout the work.

My learning
Industrial internship
It has been a great honour and privilege interning at Triburg. This internship has provided me with practical experience that I simply could not have obtained in a classroom environment. A buying house, being the bridge between the buyers and export houses, is always responsible for every little communication detail, starting with a trend story to creating the final order. Every order at Triburg is a task that is accomplished by some admirable team work. The aim of my team has always been to bring out better concepts with every upcoming order. It was stimulating to brainstorm over striking little ideas. The parallel flow of information from both sides had to be processed in a systematic way, which added to my professional skills. It taught me the how to manage my time well , follow deadlines, be at someones head for getting one sample made in time and how to always explore and go beyond what you think you can do. I therefore conclude my internship journey in Triburg with a sense of deep motivation and in high spirits.
