CULTURAL EVENTS IN UKRAINE July-October 2013 20 YEARS IN PRAGUE SQUARE
F
rom 24th of June till 24th of July an exhibition dedicated to twentieth anniversary of Czech and Slovak Republics is held at «Ideas Space» at Kremenchug. The exhibition collected documentary evidences about the most famous events of two countries existence within last two decades. Quite powerful evidence about the history of Czech and Slovak Republics’ Independence arose on the base of photos from Czech and Slovak streets and squares. Square as natural place for city citizens meetings is a witness of important political, cultural, social and sport historical events, the place for frequently controversially directed demonstrations. Also spontaneous and organized self-demonstration of society reflects in photos.
THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IN ODESSA
T
oday Ukrainian filmfest will be held from 12th till 20th of July. Among its guests and participants will be startling Emir Kusturica from Serbia, funny Gosha Kutsenko from Russia, intellectual Jos Stelling from Netherlands, the father of American art-house Roger Corman and also a lot of other stars of popular and original cinematography. Within Cinema Forum traditional showing on Potemkin Stairs will be held. It will consist of Paradjanov retrospective show, the loudest premieres of the authoritative world cinema festival demonstration, and also showing of the newest domestic films.
THE DAYS OF UKRAINE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
EMBROIDERED PARADE The fiſth «Embroidered Parade» will happen on the 24 of August. It will start at Maidan Nezalezhnosti up to Spivoche Pole. During the Parade the best man’s, woman’s and child’s embroidered shirt will be chosen; the contests for the best Miracle-Bird and the most interesting city presentation will be held; children’s competition of Ukrainian song performed a cappella will be held. Valuable prizes are waiting for the winners.
FRANKO.MISSIA
T
he Festival will be held from 19th till 28th of July at unique defense forts of the First World War on the border between Ukraine and Poland in the Popovychi village (Lviv oblast) not far from Shegyni village. «Franko.Missia» alighted from the unification of two big festivals «Fort.Missia» and «Franko Fest», which decided within ten days to create extensive and different genres art movement. Within «Franko.Missia» will occur performances, happenings, land-art, literature and musical actions. Headliners of the fest are Nino Katamadzе, Oleg Skrypka, «Komu Vnyz», «Plach Ieramii».

or the first time in the very heart of London will be held the Days of Ukraine from the 17th till the 19th of October. The best samples of reach cultural heritage and modern culture of our country will be presented to the citizens and guests of the capital of the United Kingdom within the festival. A range of events will be held in London for the formation of the positive image of Ukraine in Europe with the participation of famous Ukrainian artists and musicians. «BEREHYNIA» UKRAINIAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL

he event will be held from the 20th till 22th of September at Žalec (Slovenia). It’s called for uniting all Ukrainians who remember and pass on descendents their customs and traditions. Chain of events is planned within the festival: art competitions, concerts, exhibitions of folklore, round tables, master classes, Ukrainian traditional dishes testing etc
