RV Travel Experiences 2012-2014 TRAVEL GUIDE

USA ALASKA CANADA MEXICO AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND AFRICA EUROPE

Your Vacation of a Lifetime Begins Today “O

n the first day of our 48 day Alaska Caravan we were presented with 3-ring notebooks setting forth every day’s travel and activity, right down to what you could expect to find at almost every mile marker along the road. There was even an entry saying “At 16.4 mile you will find the best cinnamon buns in Alaska.” Now that’s detail. There were also listings of every fuel stop, as well as photos ops, where you might see animals. Fantasy is superb at planning and organizing. If we had attempted this Alaska trip on our own it might have been a disaster…and no doubt we would not have gotten to experience a small fraction of what we enjoyed in the group experience. All the campgrounds, the boat rides, the entertainment, so many meals and myriad of other activities were prearranged, pre-contracted…and we had the wagon master and the tailgunner to shepherd us along the way. There’s no way to replace the enduring relationships molded during those extraordinary seven weeks. Having started as strangers, we ultimately became friends and, finally family. If you are considering Alaska, especially for the first time, we highly recommend Fantasy RV Tours.” Alan & Arlene Werksman, Boca Raton, Florida

EXCLUSIVE PEACE OF MIND TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN FANTASY RV TOURS/CREATIVE WORLD TRAVEL IS THE ONLY RV TOUR COMPANY PROVIDING CANCELLATION INSURANCE!

Quality RV Vacations for Over 50 Years OVER 50 YEARS EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND COMMITMENT TO RV ENRICHING LIFESTYLE FANTASY RV TOURS

CREATIVE WORLD TRAVEL

Fantasy is among the world’s most distinctive RV tour companies, providing the most sought-after RV vacations around the world. With more than 20 years in the RV industry, Fantasy is one of the global leaders in escorted RV travel.

Creative World has shown RVers a new way to vacation since 1970, specializing in Rallies. The company merged with Fantasy RV Tours in 2005, and we continue to keep the traditions of Creative World alive — providing America’s Greatest Rallies.

RV CARAVANS A caravan is a group of travelers moving together from one destination to the next on a pre-planned and professionally run itinerary. Lots of RVers enjoy our RV caravan tours. You drive your own RV and have the option following an experienced tour guide, called a "wagonmaster." We also have a "tailgunner" at the rear. Each night the RVers camp together in one campground, telling stories around the campfire and planning the next day's ride. It takes years of planning and research to prepare a first-class caravan and see that it has all the ingredients for success. Caravans can be as short as seven days, to as many as sixty.

RALLIES A rally is a non-traveling gathering for RVers to celebrate a famous event, festival or happening. Creative World truly pioneered the fine art of “rallying” and today offers the most rallies of any other RV tour company. Rallies include exclusive hard-to-get campground, event tickets, interesting side excursions, tours and scrumptious meals. All you have to do is just show up, leave the details to your rally master and just have fun!

CAR-A-VANS AUTO & HOTEL GUIDED VACATIONS Fantasy is the very first TOUR COMPANY to offer non-RV escorted vacations. Guests travel to exotic destinations in their car, truck, van… anything on wheels (no RVs) and stay in hotels along the way. These guided vacations are conducted like our RV caravans with a Wagonmaster leading the way. Pre-planned itineraries, meals, events and excursions all taken care of by Fantasy experts.

Life Changing Moments

“The experience of climbing to the top of the bridge in Sydney, Australia was a life changing moment for me because I was terrified of heights. The view was so breathtaking that after the first few moments I forgot my fear and opened my senses to the awesome sight of the gorgeous harbor dominated by the Opera House. By the way, heights never bothered me again!” Steven Krauss, West Palm Beach, Florida

Life Enriching Experience

“The highlight of our Baja auto tour was our up close encounter with the grey whales and their babies. We even got to touch them… truly a life enriching experience!” John & Marianne Lauzon, Calgary Alberta, Canada

Leave the driving to us as we visit the world famous Napa and Napa’s younger sibling Sonoma wine country. The highlight of this excursion is a classic train experience aboard the vintage Napa Valley Wine Train, complete with a three course champagne lunch! Those who have been to San Francisco before go back over and over again to relive the romance. If you have never been, you’ll fall in love with the legends, beauty and ambience…you too will leave your “heart in San Francisco.”

Nature’s Glory at the Top of the World

M

other Nature gave us a challenge — to design adventures worthy of her magnificent Alaskan landscape. Well, we’ve done it. Nature set this dramatic stage — staggering peaks, glaciers, fjords, wilderness preserves, and dramatic coastlines. She also created an unforgettable cast of characters — grizzly bears, moose, wolves, whales, sea lions, and bald eagles. How could we match her splendor? First we found the historic gold rush towns, the wild lands and creatures of Denali National Park, the glaciers of Prince William Sounds, the best fishing waters in the world and the majestic coastline along the Inside Passages. Next, we created vacations perfect for long Alaska summer days, with just the right balance of exploration, entertainment and relaxation. Fantasy offers an array of itineraries for our diversified guests. 48 DAY HEART OF ALASKA Pages 38 & 39 59 DAY PREMIER ALASKA Pages 40 & 41 60 DAY CANADA & ALASKA ULTIMATE SUMMER JOURNEY Pages 42 & 43 36 www.fantasyrvtours.com

The Heart of Alaska

An Unforgettable Experience

T

his adventure reveals the wild beauty and enthusiastic people of “The Last Great Frontier,” from British Columbia to Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. Explore these frontier lands by cruising pristine waterways and reliving the Gold Rush era through old-time vaudeville and historic tours. Watch for wildlife in the forests and hillsides of Denali National Park. A highlight for all is camping right on the Homer spit at the “Halibut Capitol of the World.” Ladies and Gentleman pack your poles for salmon fishing right from the campground. Then we move on to Prince William Sound for a boat tour of the massive glaciers and watch for sea lions, puffins, orcas and humpback whales. If we are lucky we’ll even witness a glacier calving…Oh what a sight to behold! Now for the grand finale along the Cassier Highway, where eagles fly, bears roam and trout swim in the streams along the way. What a great ending to a Fantasy epic in the USA’s Great White North!

Discover Today’s Mexico

Travel Exotic Mexico ADVENTURE WITHOUT THE WORRY

Should you “watch out” when you travel in Mexico? Sure. Mexico’s sensual scenery might snatch your breath away; its friendly people might steal your heart; and that knot of tension you carry between your shoulder blades might vanish the instant you let down your guard. With its tantalizing culture, history, landscapes, recreation, weather, and cuisine, Mexico gives you the thrill of visiting a foreign land, as its neighborliness eases away the discomfort. Many of the million U.S. and Canadian retirees living in the friendly, relaxed environs of Mexico feel safer and more comfortable there than in their native lands north of the border. Of course, having an experienced escort makes any visit to a foreign country much easier and richer. They walk you handily through the ropes of traveling in Mexico and share the inside stories behind their favorite destinations. The experts at Fantasy design your route for a leisurely pace during daylight hours along well-traveled safe highways.

SAFE, FUN, EXOTIC

Over the years, Fantasy has taken thousands of vacationers south of the border, so you can skip the homework and go straight to recess. Traveling in a group enriches the Mexico experience and will enhance your peace of mind. The Wagonmaster directs your course, the Tailgunner addresses any mechanical questions, and together they keep everyone up to date via CB radios. Under that umbrella of security, you can relax, enjoy this exotic land, and form lifelong friendships with your fellow explorers. So, should you keep your eyes open when you venture into Mexico? Sure. Open your eyes — and all your other senses. This is a land of tropical warmth, shy smiles, savory food, heartstopping beauty, and vivid culture. Open your senses and leave a much richer person than when you arrived.

“This tour was absolutely awesome. We had been on a Mexico RV Tour with another company. The tours were like night and day. This Fantasy Tour has renewed our faith in caravanning. We were SAFE and felt like one big happy family.” Barbara Russell — Indio, CA

iva México! It’s what you’ll be saying after an awesome winter getaway to the northern shore of the Sea of Cortez. This 8-day vacation “taste” offers a sumptuous serving of relaxation mixed with exploration and social get-togethers. Located on the northern shore of the Sea of Cortez, just 60 miles south of Arizona is Rocky Point, the American name for quaint Puerto Penasco. A Beachfront RV site with unobstructed views of the Gulf of California has been reserved for you! Unlike other “bargain” tour companies who do not pay the extra for beachfront sites…Fantasy does. Our standard is superior service and quality experience for our guests. Travel dates in late February and early March insure that you’ll get some of the best weather on the coast. Right from the comfort of your home on wheels, you’ll watch dolphins’ antics as they cruise by and relax in the glow of stunning “south-of-the-border” sunsets. But there’s also plenty of time for exciting optional excursions that will introduce you to Mayan culture, natural geological formations and exceptional coastal fishing within this remarkable setting. If you’ve ever wanted to sample the charms of our neighbor to the south, or if you simply want to reacquaint yourself with Mexico, this “taste” might be your perfect opportunity. In the hands of Fantasy’s skilled guides, you’ll find safety and satisfaction all the way.

You visit the pre-Columbian ruins of Paquime, learn the art of Mata Ortiz pottery, an ancient process from the 12th century, and tour a Mennonite community. On an adventuresome drive to the bottom of the Canyon (in a comfortable passenger van) you will have photo opportunities galore. This road to the Canyon floor is one of Mexico’s little known most scenic drives and, truly, off the beaten track. If you want to drive less and see more — this Fantasy trip is for you!

aravanning to the grey whale’s “nursery” near Guererro Negro will take you through some of the most varied scenery in the world. Sometimes you will see the wild Pacific Ocean crashing against the craggy Baja coastline or view the crystal turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez. In the middle, you find yourself in the unique Baja desert where the exotic “boojum tree” grows among the yucca and Joshua trees. Two days of boating on Scammons Lagoon (the nursery) is the jewel in the crown for this caravan. Here you will enjoy the awesome experience of touching grey whales in the wild, both the mothers and babies come right up to the boats. Anything else is mere icing on the cake in this epoch journey. Finally, envision moonlight beach camping right at the Bahia de Los Angles on the Sea of Cortez. Walks on the beach, flavors of the local culture and an abundance of fresh seafood. Doesn’t get any better than that! Our expert Wagomasters and Tailgunners will be there guiding you all the way starting and ending in the USA. Experience Uncomparable Beauty

AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND

Australia & New Zealand

“Wonderful scenery, outstanding itinerary and trip logbook. Great entertainment and we will always remember Fantasy’s outstanding wagonmasters on our New Zealand and Australia trip.”

N

Win & Jan De Poorter, Wetumpka, AL

ew Zealand is a land of wonders. Imagine snow-capped peaks, sunny beaches, lush rainforests, raging waterfalls, massive glaciers, and smoking volcanoes. New Zealand’s North and South islands offer RVers an amazing variety of terrain. The harmonious intermingling of the diverse Maori (Polynesian) and European cultures has created a unique society of wonderful, friendly, good-natured people. You just can’t help but have a great time in New Zealand. Just across the Tasman Sea lies Australia. The Land Down Under is filled with the unexpected! Scientists say that the world’s continents were once part of one giant land mass. Australia became separated from it 200 million years ago, thus allowing its plants and animals to develop differently from any other place on Earth. You’ll come face to face with Kangaroos and Koalas. Have an opportunity to hold a wombat or laugh at the antics of the thieving Kookaburras. The Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef, harbors a wealth of rare underwater creatures and creates glittering coral islands rising above the sea. Exotic flowers, rare birds and peculiar animals color the countryside, which varies from desert to rainforest, mountains to beaches.

From oceans to “outback,” Aussies to Aborigines, Koalas to Kangaroos — Australia’s extensive east coast offers a wide spectrum of culture, wildlife and landscape. It’s the best of exotic sightseeing. Fantasy provides RVers the ideal opportunity to experience the incomparable beauty and diversity of Australia and New Zealand on this grand tour to “Kiwi” Land and “Down Under.”

ADD AUSTRALIA’S OUTBACK BY RVANOTHER FANTASY EXCLUSIVE!

Fantasy is the only company offering the real Outback by RV! Pick up your fully equipped motorhome and venture to the heart of the colorful Aussie Outback. We start in Alice Springs where its environs have been home to the Arrernte Aboriginal peoples for 20,000 years. Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock), a 650-million-year-old sandstone behemoth in the “Red Centre” of Australia, is sacred to the Aborigines and renowned for dramatic color changes. The Sounds of Silence dinner at Ayers is a mystical experience as the sun slips behind the desert landscape to reveal the brilliant constellations of the southern sky. Please be our guest on this exclusive, one-of-a-kind Fantasy adventure. Guided RV Tours 1 (800) 952–8496 55

antasy’s royal tour of Scotland brings alive the history of this great and proud nation, which for centuries battled its enemy and overlord to the south of England. It is the land of Macbeth and William Wallace, Scottish heroes of gigantic proportions. The food is legendary, itself. Sample a little haggis, some tender lamb or better yet, salmon caught in the cold waters of the Atlantic. Close your eyes and envision eating a six-course meal served with the Queen’s own china, crystal and cutlery in a State Dining Room or aboard the Royal Yacht “Britannia” eating where the world’s heads of state dined. Yes, you will visit plenty of royal castles on this tour. We even take you to the famous Isle of Skye. A “wee” dram of whiskey or pint at the local pub, history, legends, castles, scenery and the grandeur of the highlands, it is all in this great tour. Please, consider yourself cordially invited on the unique RV tour and royal experience! Those continuing on to Ireland will leave Edinburgh with their RVs and drive to Birmingham for more celtic excitment. (See page 63)

GERMANY, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND, ITALY

E

urope’s Majestic Alps with peaks strewn along five countries are absolutely gorgeous! Steep and rugged, the pinnacles are covered with glaciers and the summits are home to alpine meadows. The “Sound of Music” and tinkle of cowbells fill the meadows with glorious music. The soft green slopes are dotted with brilliant color of wildflowers and the peaks are bright white in the deep blue sky. We begin our journey in Munich, Germany, where we pick-up our European RVs. A few days in the Germany Alps allows time to visit Hitler’s famous Eagles Nest and a day trip to Austria. Geneva, Switzerland and St. Moritz are favorites, and you might get to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. A highpoint is a ride on the Mont Blanc Express to the top of Europe’s highest peak, at 15,782 ft. Just when you think the beauty can’t get any better, it does… Italy’s sheer and piercing Dolomites. This dramatic region will leave you in total awe. Fantasy offers a multitude of life enriching experiences on this vacation. Join us at the top of the mountain to see the grandeur of the Alps and feel the charm of Europe.

BEST GUIDES

The Best Guides in the Business

An Extraordinary Team!

any things set us apart. First and foremost are our tour guides, whose passion and knowledge bring it all together. Our field staff is carefully screened and selected for their leadership ability, customer service, organizational and mechanical skills, and RVing experience. We have a team of friendly people who love to travel and love sharing the fun with you. One of the most important factors about our wagonmasters is that over half of them are also part owner in the company and are Fantasy LLC members… they have a vested interest in making sure you have the best vacation possible. Doesn’t get any better than that! We empower our staff with unsurpassed training and resources because we know that the quality of our wagonmasters is imperative for delivering a memorable vacation for you. Each team receives practical tour training in the field, traveling on our routes and learning our standard practices. Fantasy goes beyond the standard, and our teams dedicate 40 hours a year to re-sharpen their hospitality skills in a specialized training. Plus all of our staff are current CPR certified! We make certain that our customers get the very best and friendliest customer service every time they call. From all of us at Fantasy to every single customer, we will do everything possible to “earn” your business and keep you as part of our cherished family. Repeatedly, RV guests tell us their guides are the best part of the tour.

We provide transportation for city tours, events, and most excursions included in the itinerary. Are pets welcome? Yes, with the exception of overseas tours and “CAR”-a-van auto and hotel tours. Canada and Mexico require proof of rabies vaccination. During the Copper Canyon Passenger Train, Polar Bear and Maritime trips we will be away from our RVs 1 to 5 nights depending on the tour. Your pet will be cared for by our pet loving staff or a campground pet sitter. For most of us, pets are our children. We are a pet friendly company and we jump through many hoops to make sure they feel welcome during the tour and receive exceptional care when we have an overnight away from our RVs. Do you travel caravan/convoy style? If you would like, to follow the Wagonmaster you are welcome to, but it isn’t necessary. Typically in Mexico our guests prefer to travel together caravan style. We provide each of our guests with comprehensive, up-to-date, field-researched trip logs documenting each landmark and turn along the route. You may travel at your own pace, enjoy photo stops, and side trips. Rest assured the staff is there to ensure safety and security for the entire group. It’s your vacation, so we offer options; we want you to enjoy safety, comfort and freedom. Do you limit the number of rigs? Yes. You’ll want to make reservations early to guarantee your date. Reservations are prioritized in the order we receive them. Most of our caravans are limited to 22 RVs, and rallies are determined individually. Do you recommend ride sharing? We do occasionally recommend ride sharing when it is the best way to enjoy a venue. We provide transportation for city tours, events, and most excursions included in the itinerary. Sometimes, such as a restaurant within a short distance of the park, it makes more sense and keeps your costs down for everyone to share rides.

Are tips included? Yes, tips are included for all meals and events in the daily itinerary. For exemplary service above and beyond the call of duty, please feel free to tip anyone including your Wagonmasters and Tailgunners. Is extra vehicle insurance needed? For trips south-of-the-border, you must have a Mexico Liability policy for each motorized vehicle. In order to accommodate our guests, we have our own insurance agency-Vista Group Insurance, and our agent is licensed in 50 states. To make sure our guests have the very best coverage at an affordable rate, we require our guests to purchase Mexico liability insurance from Vista Group. We want to be sure that you will be well taken care of should the unexpected happen. For your convenience, we can assist you in obtaining all of your Mexico and domestic insurance needs at reasonable rates. Call us for a free, no obligation quote toll free at (866) 270– 5297, direct at (970) 275–2447, or for an online quote www.vistagroupins.com. Do you have discounts? At the time of printing, we publish our lowest possible price. Occasionally, opportunities arise with our vendors that allow us to pass on an even better price to you. We’ll do that for you. We also reward you with frequent traveler credits toward a future tour with us. Do you have a cancellation policy? Yes, our cancellation policy is very liberal because we understand the RV lifestyle and because we include Emergency Trip Cancellation Insurance on all vacations for our guests. For details see our Policies on page 69. Do you schedule potlucks? Potlucks are not part of our scheduled itineraries. However, if part or the entire group wants to get together and bring a dish, then our staff will facilitate that process. Potlucks are not a requirement and are completely optional. What is a Travel Ambassador? Ambassadors are very experienced RVers that understand the special needs when planning your RV Vacation. You will see them at RV parks all across the country, at national and regional RV shows and rallies. And don’t be surprised if you see them driving down the road. Ambassadors can present a beautiful travelogue show for you on most of our vacations, and they assist you with your travel plans.

Price Guarantee Once you make your deposit on your vacation, we guarantee the price! If our suppliers increase their prices you will not be stuck with an additional cost on your trip. Our trip prices are published two to three years prior to departure. Between then and the time we are able to lock in our vendor prices, we are occasionally faced with currency fluctuations and price increases. Unlike other tour companies, we absorb that fluctuation and do NOT pass along to you the price increase. BEWARE of companies who do not lock in their price and have the option to raise your prices after you make your reservation. Not with Fantasy, your reservation guarantees your price! Prices valid through November 1, 2012 or unless otherwise published in print or on our website. We reserve the right to substitute accommodations, transportation and/or itineraries when we deem it necessary or advisable. Medical Emergency Before Tour Begins Your vacation includes cancellation insurance, emergency medical assistance, rig recovery, medical evacuation coverage, international health insurance and many more benefits. Once you make your reservation your insurance coverage begins. Should you or an immediate loved one have a major medical emergency which prevents you from traveling, our insurance agent at Vista Group will assist you in filing a claim. For emergencies covered by travel insurance, you will be required to notify the cancellation insurance company and for approved claims you will receive a refund less administrative fees of $89 and 3% of the tour price. Fantasy is the only RV Tour Company providing the added benefits of cancellation insurance. Your peace of mind is very important to us!
