A gift….When my children were very young, I remember telling them, “we can’t afford gifts this year because of the lack of money.” There little faces were saddened but I encouraged them to pray and ask Jesus for money for Christmas. So we all knelt by the couch and prayed. Of course, we all wondered if anything would take place but we prayed for $200. A few days later, a check came in the mail, as a gift from another church, for $200. This was a precious gift to my family at a time when we needed it at a very important time of the year. God loves to give gifts and to take care of us…because he gave us such a beautiful gift in Jesus… 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 Abundant Life, can I encourage you on December 23rd, to bring a special gift for the church. We are short on our budget as I type, we need your help. ALL the staff have had their wages cut and there is nothing more we can cut in the budget. Please hear my heart, it is not the amount, it is what God lays on your heart to give. We need your help. I love my church and will participate with a heart of love for ALCC. I know you do too. We never know what a difference we make when we give a gift of love to a church that tries so hard to love others. Please be sure to make this above your regular generosity. Thanks so much for your kindness in the past year. Each of you have demonstrated the love and value of who God is in your life. We are so grateful….oh a gift…that was one special Christmas for my kids. Whenever they struggle financially now as an adult, I remind them how God provided and used that church to bless this little family, they didn’t know. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas! PB and Kathy “GLAD TIDINGS WE BRING to you and your kin! We wish you a
merry Christmas and a happy new year!” Ever been caught singing? Like you didn’t know someone would hear you and you were singing at the top of your lungs? A song that was on your heart Some people love to sing out loud and then there was us. Thing is: we all have a life song and we are called to release it. (Colossians 3:16; James 5:13; Psalm 40:3; Psalm 105:2; Psalm 150:1-5; Psalm 95:1; Acts 16:25; Ephesians 5:19; Hebrews 2:12; Amos 6:5; Revelation 7:9-10) There is a song, prayer, glad tidings in our hearts. It’s this good news that we sing when things are well. When tough times hit. When things don’t go our way. When we grinding through the day. When things are uncertain. When we are caught off guard and don’t know what to do. There’s this glad tidings that rings true sometimes quietly but it’s there. This Christmas season, we are going to study Luke 1 & 2 and we’ll see 4 different people and their heart/life songs during the first Christmas. The first Christmas wasn’t the nicest decorated but the greatest cheers were the songs that God decorated in their hearts. May we be decorated with the true meaning of Christmas. Glad tidings we bring to you and your kin, The Mejias
We are glad you are here, and we trust that feel at HOME. It is our hope and prayer that you will join in as we share our lives, struggles and celebrations of faith together. We are intentional about relationships with God and each other to bring this message of HOPE to our community.

A Ministry of self-examination based on the eight principles from the Beatitudes. CR STEP 3 – FAITH “we made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God. “ We demonstrate faith just by the fact that we are involved in recovery taking an honest look at ourselves. If we didn’t have faith in the promise of a better future for our self or our family, we wouldn’t put our self through the hard work and pain involved in recovery. But as time passes, we may grow discouraged at the length of the process. We may have our spirits dampened by the ups and downs along the road, feeling our faith ebb more often than flow. For most of us it will take faith and patience to inherit the promise of a new life. Sometimes the insanity of living with our own habits, hang-ups or hurts or with people who are acting in bizarre ways can cause us to become desperate for help. We may feel despair and wonder is there really a way out of the insanity of our current circumstances. Maybe our plight is impossible, at least without God’s help, but faith can make even the impossible happen. Faith is a mysterious commodity. According to Jesus it takes a small amount of faith, real faith, to make a big difference. Faith is so important! Some phases of our recovery are very painful and we will need faith in God’s love for us through other people to help us get through this pain. Recovery is a time of correction, a time of facing problems and character flaws and a time for changing incorrect beliefs. There may be seasons when we do have to pay for our past. God will use these times to redirect our life toward something better. This is where we need to have faith that God knows what he is doing when it comes to the “Big Picture” in our life. To wrap this up, we are running a race. The Race of Recovery. Faith in God can give us the motivation to run the race, with a real chance at winning life’s rewards. Hebrews12: 1b-2 says “And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.”( NLT ) It is God’s will for us to win the Race of Life. There will be pain from the exertion, but we are told to pace our self and bear the pain with patience. Hebrews 12;1a tells us that there is a huge crowd who have run the same race and finished well waiting to cheer us on. Hallelujah! We are not alone
