A Corporate Affair For Bocce

An update from the Newmarket Bocce Club

The 31st March saw the Newmarket Bocce Club’s first corporate work competition with surveyors

A great night was had by all, with five club members, assisted by Tony D, Mario, Bill, Silvio and Natale, the chef cooking up a storm. Jenson Bowers kindly provided the BBQ, goodies and drinks and there wasn’t an empty belly in the house!

Six double teams played for the perpetual cup and are in their 13th year now, the first nine years being played in a park and following four years at the club. They play with the clubs composite balls, a bit lighter than the traditional steel bocce balls. The final was nail biting affair ending in a 6-6 draw coming down to golden point, one ball each player. For the audience it made for a great game
