Introduction Mmm. Can you smell breakfast or fresh bread in the morning? Well in this book you will find out some great foods for special occasions, safety in the kitchen,appropriate clothes to wear when cooking, and much much more. Also if you want a cooking carrier just cook, oh and when cracking eggs DO NOT leave an eggshell inside. Thank You!
CHAPTER 1: What to Wear?
Apron You need a apprion because for example you are making a cake and you do not want the batter on your clothes,also they are just plain fun to wear. (they are also very fun to wear matching ones) Gloves You need gloves because when you are putting or taking something out of the oven. Also the heat in the oven is EXTREMELY HOT! The heat burns your eyes and you do not have gloves so you can not really see where your hands are going to land so you could burn your hands , but if you have gloves you could touch a scorching pan and not care because the gloves protect your hands. Also the gloves can be used if you have a fireplace and you are roasting marshmallows (ets ets) you can roast them very quickly by putting them into far senter without burning your hands. Onion Goggles Sometimes you need onion goggles when you can not take it anymore and your eyes feel like they are on fire. (I HATE when that happens to me.) If you are like me then do not fear onion goggles are here! DO NOT wear fancy clothes ! You should NEVER wear fancy clothes because if you get red food colored eggs smudged all over a 2,000 dollar dress I doubt you would be happy. Also if you wear home clothes if they get dirty it will not matter one bit.
CHAPTER 2: How to Use the Oven ALWAYS have an adult with you! (if do not have cooking experience) You should always have an adult with you because you never know when something could go wrong and they help. Also it is good to have company. You should have a parent with you because they are worried about you and also if you are making pancakes for breakfast and they do not trust that you can leave out a gross eggshell. Also another reason you should have a parent with you is they care about their... oven and they don't want you to set it on fire. (Just kidding. Your parents care more about you than anything in the world.) When baking… When baking bread,cake etc. etc. ALWAYS use 340 400 because if you use any higher your food and your oven will to,but it depends what you are cooking so that may be an exception to use higher than 400 degrees or you can do under 340 degrees but it depends on what food you are making. Press on and preheat If you press preheat to heat it will take longer to heat up the oven so if you need more time to finish cooking it will give you 15 more minutes before it heats up a lot. If you do not do that this will happen! Also if you don’t press preheat the oven will heat up too quickly and turn to hot, and so the food will not turn exactly how you like it. BEWARE Oven is Very Hot!!!!!!!! The oven is very hot! So you should be very careful, or this will happen! Also ovens can be very dangerous.
Chapter 3: WHAT DOES WHAT
Butter knives are for spreads only Butter knives are for spreads only because they are not strong enough for cutting meat and other and other foods. Toasters are for Bread,Waffles, etc.etc. Toasters are only for toasting because you can’t bake with them or fry with them but you can toast bread, bagels, but NOT puffy bread! Pots are for boiling. Pans are for frying. Pots are for boiling because if you put water in a pot and leave it on the stove it will heat up and one of the food you could make is boiled eggs if the water was hot enough and you crack an egg and leave it there for a bit you will get a boiled egg with a melted yolk. Pans are for frying because you can’t boil anything with it or make boiled eggs with it but you can make eggs and soup if you have a very deep pan. Why do you need whisks and not spoons? You use whisks and not spoons because whisks whisk better and they are easy to use. Also they mix ingredients better and make the ingredients nice soft and creamy.
Big steak knives are for cutting very big and hard meats When you are cutting very big and hard meats with a big steak knife my opinion is and have experience with cutting with a steak knife then you can use it BUT you need an adult and permission to do it.let an adult do it because the knives are very sharp. If you don’t know what you are doing.
CHAPTER 4: Proper Care of Cooking Tools
If you use an oven for quilts or storage do not turn on the oven or the storage will burn. If you do this you will not be happy. Your money will go to waste and your house might set on fire! WARNING: Do not do this! Do not leave forks on hot pans Do not leave forks on scorching pans. Forks will burn and if you do not know that a fork has burned and you touch the forth with your hand, your hand will burn. Cleaning Cooking Tools You should always clean your cooking tools because if you don’t clean them for a very long time it will be so hard to clean them after. Also when you cook different foods with the same pot or pan, your food will taste not the best. Do not put glass bowls in the oven Do not put glass bowls in the oven like this person. Never put glass bowls in the oven because they can melt in the oven and the oven could get destroyed. Also, if you put a EXPENSIVE glass bowl in the oven that is just a sad mistake. Sharpen Knives You sometimes have to sharpen knives because sometimes they get weak and then they are not sharp so you have to sharpen them. You can either send them to a company or do it yourself. I would want to send it to a company for my knife to get sharpened because if you have a baby come over and the baby gets curious and touched a very sharp sharpener things will not turn out okay.
CHAPTER 5: Special Meals for Special Occasions Barbeque Steak with sweet homemade apple honey barbeque sauce. You can make this dish any time but I prefer to eat this once and awhile. Eat it right after it cools down a bit and eat it that day. Christmas Red velvet cake and gingerbread men. (When making gingerbread men use eggnog flour.) Thanksgiving Apple Pie (use fresh apples) It take a while to cool but do not eat it right down. If you do not wait it will not taste its best. Easter carrot cake and easter eggs.
CONCLUSION Wow! You strapped your aprons up high, and turned your thinking caps on high and now you know plenty! And now maybe now you want a cooking carrier! Did you like this book?
