Design Statement KCAI is a very prestigious school and well known for, but the current east entrance does not work for the school because it is too bland. The sidewalk that leads into the green area of the campus is very straight whereas the other sidewalks are very curvy and more creative and fun. The feeling is gives right now is unapproachable; we want to give it the feeling of structured, leading, and worthiness.
Site Assessment
For the assessment of the landscape, we came up with a few words that described the school. We thought of structure because the school is very structured. It has a good foundations program and most of the majors KCAI offers are well rounded. Another word was innovative, because most of the projects students create are in ways introducing new ideas to the world. We also chose modern because of the fairly new architectural buildings on campus. Examples of a more modern design on campus are the Dodge Painting Building, and Irving.

MATERIALS & INSPIRATION
The materials we have decided upon are wood for the exterior and a buffed stainless steel for the interior. The reason for the buffed interior stands for prestigious, and it leads a person in. Whoever is walking through the tunnel will see themselves, and only they can create a future for themselves. INSPIRATIONS: -The Bean -St. Louis Arch -Nelson Atkins Museum -Kona Residence Entrance
