Letter From the Editor Hello everyone! I hope you all have had a spooktacular October .This was another awesome month of service, and just exemplifies what our organization is capable of. We’ve done some pretty amazing projects, but also have had a ton of fun together. It’s exciting meeting all the new members, especially within the committee system, and also to become better friends with returning members too! We truly enjoy our time spent together as a club here at Circle K, and making the hard work a great experience. I can’t wait to see what comes next, especially with CKSD just around the corner.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s 10/7 The Elderly Outreach committee spent many hours during the summer and the month of September to raise money for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. On October 7th, all their hard work culminated during the actual walk. The money Circle K raised will be used to further research on curing and treating Alzheimer’s. Check out the walk’s participants, Jamie Hunter, Vanessa Dinh, and Michael Ivey, below!
Circle 5k 10/21
The Circle 5K changed it up this year: it took place during the fall rather than the spring. Participants wove their way around campus following the route established by Ariana Yea and Sonia Lee, chairs of Health and Wellness and Environment committees, respectively. Volunteers at every turn kept runners on the right path. In the end, Premnath Shenoy (of the Children’s committee) took first place. This project is full of fun, athleticism, and gives Circle K members some healthy competition.
Trick or Can 10/31 Trick or Can is a tradition for the Circle K at the University of Michigan. Members look forward to it every year! Each Halloween the Hunger and Housing committee plans this service event, working tirelessly throughout the fall to put together driving routes. Circle K members then embark on a journey of service around Ann Arbor, “trick-or-treating for canned goods from our realadult neighbors. Everyone dresses up and has a spooky time, and all of the food is donated to Food Gatherers, a local food bank.

Committee Lock-in 10/5 The committee lock in was a great way to reconnect with members that I met last year, and to make new friends with some new members! I had a blast cookie decorating, rock-paperscissors playing, and competing with my fellow committee members. – Kate Amidon, Environment committee member

Fall rally 10/19-10/21 by Environment committee member Autumn McGuffie
I loved Fall Rally because it allowed me to meet and do service with so many people from other Circle K clubs from across the state. I loved the theme also because we all got to know each other through playing various games and it was such a great weekend!

The alumni tailgate was super fun as always! It’s great to see the alums and hear all of the awesome things they have done since graduation and how CK has continued to impact their lives. And of course I enjoyed the array of bagels provided by the Historian committee because carbs are the root of joy. – Skylar Gleason, Circle K President
MSU Cider Mill Social 10/7 For the MSU social, we drove to Uncle Johns Cider Mill and met up with Circle K members from all over Michigan’s colleges. We did a corn maze, barely squeezed on a hayride, and we enjoyed cider and donuts together. This was a super fun experience for me because I got to meet up with friends from Key Club that I hadn’t seen in a long time, and it was super eye-opening to see the reach of Circle K and meet more people involved in it from all over!
