Project Brief This was a self directed project where I chose to experiment with hand lettering. In this project I played around with changing up the line weight, and stroke. I decided to do hand lettering to do something that I’m not particularly good at and challenge my skills.

My Process I first started by looking at artists that do hand lettering and their process. I attempted to understand their process and ways of creating. Next I started my own hand lettering. I first started by looking at other hand lettering while drawing my own phrases in that sort of “font. While doing this I had the problem of some of the lettering looking good while one or two letters would look bad so I would take tracing paper and redraw the letters that I didn’t like as much and replaced them with the ones drawn on tracing paper to make a more cohesive piece. After having a few drawings that I liked I brought them into the computer and cleaned them up. I then added color to the letters and made different variations. I then picked my favorite and finalized my cards. I finally photoshoped the final card images onto a blank card.
