THE STORY OF THE UNKNOWN

The Unknown

I looked into a women’s eyes which were pale green and framed by a dark smudge of eyelashes. She had lines around her mouth. But other than that she looked really young, around 18. The lines got deeper as she started to ask me questions. I was laid down on something cold staring at a man that stood at the middle of the room, his posture so rigid it looked like someone replaced his spine with a metal rod. The sight of him made me feel like all the air in the room was heavier, bearing down on me. “Where am I, what happened to me!?” I demanded. The man in the middle of the room walked closer to me. “Hi Benzo. I am Professor Moore ” I interrupted before the professor could finish “Professor? Am I in hospital, what happened to me!?” It didn’t look like a hospital. The room was fenced by bricks that looked like even if a bomb exploded, it still wouldn’t collapse. The other side of the room was a line of bars. I felt as if I was locked in from the outside world. I had to get out of here. Before the professor could say anything else I spotted something shaped in a rectangle with hinges to hold it up. I ran over to it… It was locked! I started to panic as if I had an alarm button and

This was my chance… I ran as if my life depended on it. I ran past tall buildings that gave me shivers that shot up my spine, and shops that sparkled in the sunlight. The weird thing was I had been running for about thirty minutes, as if I was an athlete, picking my legs up and slamming them on the ground but not even a drop of sweat had ran down my face. It was as if I could’ve ran for hour’s nonstop. I came to a stop. Hugh buildings bellowed over me. I sensed everyone’s jaws opened, as they had shuffled back making whimpering noises. Kids had tears running down from their eyes. I saw myself standing in front of a cafe window. Only I didn’t see my short brown hair or my tanned face. I saw silver. As if my face had been blown up and I was full of silver that shone in the sunlight. I wanted to cry but I couldn’t. It was as if my eyes had been dried out. My mind was blank I began to slam my legs fiercely on the ground. I ended up all the way to the street that I live on. My house became in sight. I came to an ease as I lifted the mat and sprinted straight to my laptop. What the heck happened to me? As I logged on I saw an email had come through from Professor Moore. I took a deep breath and started to read.
