Have you introduced any new products? In 2021 we launched a new product specifi cally designed for build-to-rent properties: CHU Build to Rent – Residential Insurance. It is specifi cally designed for apartment buildings that are not subject to a strata subdivision and are 100% owned by the developer/original owner.
Does your agency have any environment and sustainability initiatives? Since 2019, CHU has been working with Tim Jarvis’s Forktree project to o set our carbon footprint by planting thousands of trees on degraded farmland in SA. In another CHU initiative, our Queensland builders use unique skips to collect, remove and recycle the waste from insurance clean-up and repair work, and up to 90% of the material gathered is recycled. CHU is also trialling environmentally friendly cleaners and paints with a Victorian panel supplier with a view to rolling them out nationally in 2022.
Is there an agency achievement you are most proud of? CHU won the Underwriting Agency of the Year award in 2017, 2018 and again in 2021 at the ANZIIF Australian Insurance Industry Awards.
