THE AMPEZZO DOLOMITE NATURAL PARK DER NATURSCHUTZPARK DER AMPEZZANER DOLOMITEN Founded in 1990, the park covers an area of more than 11.000 hectares extending north from the centre of Cortina. It is a protected area with mountain farms, forests, and nature reserves, surrounded by peaks over 3,200m.

The Museum of the Tre Sassi Fort – Valparola Pass It was constructed in 1897 to defend the Southern borders of the Austro-Hungarian empire, and modified in 1910. After only a few weeks of war the fort was struck by bombs fired from the 5 Torri and evacuated The Great War Open Air Museum of the 5 Torri - Falzarego Pass The command group of the mountain artillery was based in the 5 Torri area, and this is where the cannons, aimed at the Austrian stations in Lagazuoi and the Fort of Tre Sassi, were positioned The Great War Open Air Museum of Lagazuoi – Falzarego Pass The museum can be reached on foot or by a high speed cable car. Schon in den ersten Kriegswochen wurde die Festung von den 5 Torri aus mit Bomben beschossen, beschädigt und evakuiert Freilichtmuseum 5 Torri – Falzarego-Pass Im Gebiet 5 Torri hatte das Kommando der GebirgsArtillerie ihren Hauptsitz. Hier waren die gegen die Festung 3 Sassi und die österreichischen Stellungen auf dem Lagazuoi gerichteten Kanonenbatterie stationiert Freilichtmuseum auf dem Lagazuoi – Falzarego-Pass Das Museum ist zu Fuß oder mit der Seilbahn erreichbar. Dank der vielen restaurierten Wege bekommt man einen Einblick in die dramatischen Geschehnisse des einzigen Hochgebrgskrieges der Menschheit Freilichtmuseum auf dem Hexenstein (Sasso di Stria – Falzarego-Pass) Um den Gipfel des Hexensteins zu erreichen, geht man entweder durch die Schützengräben oder durch den Goiginger-Stollen
