Obituary Eliasar ( Camilo ) was born on July 18, 1928 to Rosalio Bocanegra Cerda & Maria Handy Cerda in Donna, Texas in Hidalgo County. He was born into a large family that consisted of twelve children with two passing away as infants. He is preceded in death by his parents and six of his siblings, Narciso Cerda, Anita Cerda, Estanislado Cerda Sr., Emma Cerda Yocum, Ezequiel Cerda & Virginia Cerda Balli. At the young age of 17 years old, he joined the Marine Corps towards the ending of WW II. After this first service in the Marines, he was called back to re-enlist in 1950 and served again during the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge from the military, he met Maria Sifuentes and they married on April 25, 1954. They were married 53 years until her passing in December 2007.

Camilo & Maria had seven children, Jose Narciso, Albert, Eliasar Jr, (Ellen) Anna Maria (Stanley), Sylvia (Daryl), Norma (Stuart) & Ezekiel. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his seven children & eleven grandchildren; Wendy Cerda Cullis & Thaddeus Cerda, Denice & Jennifer Hysaw, Eli III, Elias & Eliseo Cerda, Victoria LeDoux & Patricia Washington, Stephanie & Stuart Washington and ten great-grandchildren.
