• Coronavirus (COVID 19) - Keeping up to date – The Community is reminded of their responsibility for following Government guidelines. Keep up to date with the latest Government information and guidelines at www.gov.uk/coronavirus • Coronavirus lockdown – January 2021 - As of the Governments notification on 4 January 2021, the UK has entered into a Coronavirus national lockdown. Both West Sussex and the NHS can support residents with food & medication and if possible this should be where they go for support. See www.westsussex.gov.uk/fire-emergencies-andcrime/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-andinformation/community-hub-covid-19/ and www.nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk/ Residents may also contact the Horsham District Council Hub at 01403 215100. • New permanent classrooms – The permanent classrooms for the infant and junior academies in Southwater were opened and ready for use by the 4th January. This was welcomed and appreciated by pupils, teachers and parents. • The Census is coming – National Census day is Sunday 21 March 2021. It’s easy to take part. There’s a wide range of services to help you fill in your form, including help in different languages, accessible guidance and a contact centre. If you, or anyone you know, needs help, there’s plenty available. For more information, visit www.census.gov.uk • Horsham District Council (HDC) Draft Local Plan – A government appointed inspector has confirmed the content of the Draft Local Plan is on the right track. However the Government has changed the “goal posts”, therefore statements of common ground need to be amended and submitted before Regulation 19. This will incur a short delay on the Local Plan decision making. HDC envisage that the Regulation 19 document will be published in the spring of 2021. Potential impact to the Southwater Neighbourhood Plan is to be confirmed. • Southwater Neighbourhood Wardens – At the Full Council Meeting on the 20th January 2021, the Parish Council agreed unanimously to continue the services of the Neighbourhood Wardens for further two years until 31st Mar 2023. Neighbourhood Wardens - Dominic Woodhead and Jacquie Cave have been and will continue to carry out their duties with and for local community. See link below.

• Horsham District Council (HDC) is currently preparing their new Local Plan which will guide future developments in the district until 2036. The public are encouraged to have their say on the draft Local Plan during the public consultation from 17 February to 30 March. The full draft Local Plan is on HDC’s website at www.horsham.gov.uk/localplanreview.
