your VOTE is your VOICE Get Out and Vote Tuesday, April 4! You will have the opportunity to vote on whether or not the City should impose a half-cent sales tax for Parks and Recreation in the upcoming General Municipal Election on April 4, 2017! If approved, this tax will provide a dedicated revenue stream for Parks and Recreation for the first time in Kirksville’s history, allowing improvements to be made across all City parks and recreation areas, the construction of a new Aquatic Center, and the repurposing of the existing Aquatic Center into a community center. For more information, visit www.kirksvillecity.com/parkstax! You will also be able to vote for two of the following three candidates for two positions on the City Council: Richard “Rick” Steele (incumbent), Jerry Michael Mills (incumbent), and Kevin A. Alm. All City Council positions are three-year terms. On April 10, 2017, the Council will select both the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, who will then serve for the next year. Be sure to vote April 4, 2017!
