PUBLISHER
Launched in 2017, The KNOW Book + Tribe began as a way to bring more attention to dynamic women doing remarkable things in the Phoenix metro. We knew there were an outstanding number of women impacting the community and making big strides in their industries. Our goal was to get those women from behind their computer screens and into the public eye. Thus, we created the KNOW Book, a carefully curated publication that would feature vision-led women in a glamorous and authentic style. As the momentum grew and we recognized the need for more, we launched our Tribe around the women featured in our KNOW Book. Our mix & mingles soon ensued and we witnessed incredible things happening. We saw our women doing business with each other, creating friendships, supporting each other, collaborating on projects together and so much more. What started as a fun project to spotlight women, has turned into a full-blown movement. The KNOW Book + Tribe has expanded beyond its birthplace of Phoenix, Arizona; its aim is to launch in every major city across the United States and Canada. Today, we are excited to welcome the dynamic women of the Tampa into our KNOW Tribe. The women featured in this book have been vetted against our high standards. I am proud to say that each and every woman featured is filled with integrity, vision, and grace. Welcome to KNOW Tampa!

We snapped hundreds of photos to prepare the KNOW Tampa Book... and we had a whole lotta fun doing it! 2018 9
AMBASSADOR It’s here! The moment we have waited for since May 2018 is finally here! As you open this Book to turn the pages, think about what you hold in your hands: success, triumph, creativity, diversity, friendship, and inspiration. Let the stories on the pages resonate, delight in the authenticity of the images, and allow yourself to be overcome with pride for who makes our city thrive. I could not be more excited for the final outcome of this project, KNOW Tampa – featuring over 100 amazing female entrepreneurs, makers, creators, inventors, dreamers, and doers. It is my hope that the established trailblazers feel energized by the emerging leaders of Tampa, and that those rising stars draw inspiration and feel supported by those who have been in business for many years. The women of the KNOW Book are all such a gift to one another, and I cannot wait to watch the empowerment flourish within our Tribe. Over the past several months, I have had the honor of connecting with all of you—learning about you, the drive behind your business, the challenges you’ve faced, your vision, the what-if’s and why-not’s, and the power of positivity. Thank you for your energy, openness, and commitment in the creation of KNOW Tampa…together, we will LIFT + RISE!
xo,
Julie Tingley KNOW Tampa Ambassador www.theknowtribe.com knowtampabay@gmail.com
After 15 successful years in the medical sales industry, Julie Tingley decided to hang up her scrubs to stay home and focus on being a mom to her two little girls. Her passion to celebrate women from every industry and at every life-stage purposefully grew after receiving professional pushback regarding her decision to take time off from her career with the birth of her first daughter. It was this very fervency that kept her focused on finding her Tribe. Setting the example of female empowerment, inclusion and collaboration for both girls became the driving force that motivated this ambitious mother to ultimately compose a beautiful compilation that the people of Tampa would take pride in. The KNOW Book + Tribe is not only a celebration of today, but also a change-agent for the future of the birth-city of Julie’s children and so many others.

BEAUTY MICROBLADING ARTIST MICHELLE WYPER Trained by multiple European based academies, microblading artist Michelle Wyper brings her unique hyper-realism method of brow tattooing to Tampa Bay. She wanted to lift the stigma of tattooed brows by offering a more delicate, conservative, realistic option and in early 2016 finally took the plunge working full time at Flirt Wax Bar in South Tampa. “My ultimate goal when I take a client is to create a healed result that doesn’t look like a tattoo, but looks like a better version of your natural brow.” Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, Michelle came from a creative family and grew up with pastels in her hand. It was her intrinsic artistic capabilities that have helped her with brow shaping, stroking and giving clients fuller, more beautifully shaped semi-permanent brows. She is always updating her pigments and using the smallest blades in the industry so her results can be the best for her clients.

ELIZABETH DI MAIO With a budding sales career in the beauty industry, Elizabeth was excited to launch Healium Hair in 2007 with her husband. Learning things the hard way, the wrong way and the expensive way also taught her that successful people fail a lot. However, these challenges paled in comparison to the struggles she faced becoming a widow with two small children at the age of 39. Standing alone at the helm of the company after her husband passed from cancer in 2017 was a hardship she never anticipated. With a small team in place nationwide, Healium Hair is currently in over 5,000 hair salons and growing. She also launched the Heal I Am Program, to give back 5% of every sale to one of 3 charities. Elizabeth found her strength as the ultimate multi-tasker, having her hand in every aspect of her business while remaining focused on her children. And while she doesn’t have all the answers, she has faith that this is her path for a reason.

BEAUTY Ever since she was little, Jessica knew she wanted to be in the beauty industry. At the age of 18, she moved to NYC and was determined to make it as a makeup artist. Earning barely enough to cover her expenses in the city, Jessica’s passion persisted. After a job with Ford’s creative department grew into new opportunities that involved a move to Los Angeles, she knew the hard work was paying off. While in LA, she found Blushington where she worked her way up to Director of Artistry, trained all artists and opened five stores nationwide. Soon after, she joined the E! News team and began working the Golden Globes, Oscars, Grammys, MTV movie awards and the Emmys. Eventually, Jessica signed with LA top-agency Cloutier Remix and has been mentioned as a beauty expert on Good Morning America, Access Hollywood and E!. Jessica moved to Tampa for her nowhusband, Logan, with a star-studded list of clients. Missing the beauty influences of the West Coast, she met Bianca Benedetto and opened “Sweatology,” Tampa’s first and only medically-approved infrared sauna and detox studio.

In 2016, Loralee decided it was time to finally fulfill a long-held dream of opening her own medical aesthetic boutique: U South Tampa, “Where inner and outer beauty blossom.” With her genuine concern and compassion, Loralee ensures her patients feel understood and fulfilled. CASEY BARBIE As a new mom it was frustrating for Casey to not have the ability to text her pediatrician a picture of a rash or a high fever and instantly schedule an appointment without the hassle of a phone call. Casey spoke with other business owners of different industries who also had the same frustration of getting ahold of customers and getting answers. From these frustrations SEND IT BY TEXT was born.
During her initial research into business texting she found out that 97% of phone calls are unanswered yet 99% of text messages are read, mostly within the first minute!
Business texting was just the beginning. Signing documents, reminders and scheduling appointments, collecting payments and so much more could be done by businesses when they SEND IT BY TEXT.

KARRIE MUELLER Karrie Mueller started in web-marketing in Orlando before moving to New York City to pursue a career working with clients like Johnnie Walker, Nintendo and Virgin. While she loved the corporate lifestyle, there was a part of her that wanted to create something of her own. With a little nudge from her future husband, Chris, she moved to Tampa and opened up her own web marketing company, Webhead Interactive. Webhead offers clients top rankings on search engines, increased social media engagement and website design. It was through Webhead that Karrie discovered that the online cookie-cutter industry was comprised of companies with dated business practices and slow buying processes which offered a unique opportunity. With this information, she and Chris created online cookie-cutter store, Cheap Cookie Cutters, one of the leading cookie-cutter manufacturers in the US boasting over 5000 designs. Several years and two children later, a third opportunity presented itself to Karrie in the form a fairytale. After attending several princess-themed parties with hired characters, Karrie, a former-Disney World princess, saw the need for quality children’s entertainment in Tampa. With her background and a passion for all things Disney, she started Parties with Character, an experiential company that offers theme-park quality singing princesses for parties and events. Karrie shares “we start these companies to work for ourselves, so that I can be home with my kids and we can travel anytime as a family. And we are always thinking of the next thing! Chris and I bring out the best in each other and it’s fun to start new companies. We’ve been lucky that most of them have been successful. I live by the quote: ‘A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds’ ~Francis Bacon.”

Angie Q’s Sweets was established in 2015. Owner and founder, Angie Quintas’ love for baking started when she was a little girl. She recalls her earliest and fondest childhood memories sitting on the kitchen counter and helping her grandmother bake cookies. Every celebration and gathering was an opportunity to try and bake something new. Angie’s passion for baking remained even years later that --after following a career in the medical industry --she returned to the kitchen. She found a niche for decorated cookies, and taught herself the ins-and-outs of royal icing decorating. With the encouragement and support of her loved ones, what started as a hobby of making cookie gifts for family and friends, turned into a full blown cookie career and the birth of Angie Q’s Sweets. Angie Q’s cookies are made to order so they are always fresh and personalized to help celebrate the special events, milestones and memories in the lives of her treasured customers.

DEBORAH F. BOLAND, D.O.
In 2016, Dr. Deborah F. The Woman’s Group was founded by Dr. Madelyn Butler in 1998. Her vision was to create a practice dedicated to high-quality obstetrical and gynecological care and education for women of all ages. She envisioned a practice where women would care for women with compassion. Today, those guiding principles form the core culture of this organization that now employs over 100 women, including 25 top notch physicians and nurse practitioners, spans across four office locations and serves three Tampa Area hospitals. The practice has also expanded its products and services to address the broader health and wellness needs of all women. HOME & LIFE CAT F. BLUE SALVAGE Cat is the wondering creative of Blue Salvage, a specialty handcurated home goods brand. Blue Salvage was developed while Cat was studying at SCAD for her MA in Design Management. When gearing up for her final project, she realized the need for unique responsibly sourced global home goods at affordable costs. Cat understood by curating these textiles directly from the source that she would be able to facilitate affordable designs for her clientele, and share more profit with her global artisans. ‘Design with a purpose’ became the platform from which she partnered with small-production shops in each country to work with select artisans and collectors. She chose to not only purchase, but also empower her partners to sustain their traditions while supporting their families. Working with small shop owners in Morocco, family-owned factories in India and a new generation of vintage rug collectors in Turkey, Cat’s travels have been more than a labor of love. “The relationships with my clients and artisans transcend transactions. LUCY WHITE LULU STUDIO Lucy White is an artist living and working in Tampa Bay. She works primarily in paint, exploring color, texture, depth and movement through her expressionistic and botanical pieces. Influenced by her Southern roots and her art enthusiast grandmother, Lucy has pursued art throughout her life, minoring in fine art at Birmingham-Southern College. She paints out of her studio near downtown and the University of Tampa. Her work is displayed in private collections nationally, from Washington DC to California. With a majority of her painting experience falling within traditional watercolor and acrylic paints, Lucy relishes the opportunity to explore oil, pastes, glazes, varnishes and resin in her pieces. Each layer gets thoughtful consideration as to what it may evoke, and through those layers, the piece evolves. Large-scale canvases and a wide variety of mediums are her happy place. Lucy, her husband and their three young children enjoy travel and adventure, and -of course- creating wonderful art together. Lucy’s work is available at Lulu Studio or by commission. Her studio is also available to rent for events.

Instead, Prescott took an atypical approach to build a practice that would not only capture the essence of today’s modern family, but would also celebrate those who wish to commit their lives to service – which she calls a “PurposeDriven System.” Through this conviction, Prescott boldly implemented a wholly electronic practice that allows her family-driven staff the

AUTUMN ETHEREDGE As a Tampa native, she may be a little biased in her belief that Tampa is the greatest City to live in, but her love for her home town is part of what makes selling homes here such a pleasure.
Real estate has been an interest and passion of Autumn’s for as long as she can remember. From a little girl decorating Barbie’s dream house and flipping through Real Estate magazines at restaurants, she has transformed those childhood fantasies into a successful and rewarding career where she now turns clients dreams into a reality. She truly believes you get back what you put out into the world so she gives back whenever she can. After becoming a mom to her daughter in 2016, her passion to make Tampa a greater place for children and for empowering Women intensified. You will find her regularly volunteering in various community projects as an active member of The Junior League of Tampa and currently serves as Chair for Food4Kids which partners with Feeding Tampa Bay to serve over 1200 bags of nutritious food monthly to local disadvantaged children.
