WHAT IS THE HERAKLION SOCIAL SOLIDARITY CLINIC Social responsible fellowman, Heraklion Social Solidarity Clinic was created because some people – doctors, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, secretaries, students and people of other specialties – decided to be present, beside you, to support you.

All those people are offering their services not because they are obliged to by anyone, but due to their humanity and their feelings of dignity and solidarity, without expecting any benefit apart from the moral and political satisfaction to actually prove that inside this unfair and hostile society there is another one, a society of justice and solidarity.

This clinic is neither a public nor a municipal clinic. Unfortunately, the State stood and is still standing indifferent and incapable of offering its citizens what it is obliged to offer.

This clinic is the Heraklion Social Solidarity Clinic.

Here, is a self-administered and an independent -from political parties and organizations- initiative to provide free of charge primary health care to resourceless people with no health insurance. It is selfadministrated by both those who work and offer in it and those who are receiving this offer, including you.

The Heraklion Social Solidarity Clinic is everybody’s case; it directly concerns all of us. In case you are interested to offer your support, please ask one of the volunteers how you may contribute for this effort to continue to exist. Please note that in case you still can afford to pay a visit to another clinic, please do it, so that other people -who are in worse economical situation than yourself- are not deprived of their only chance of free health care provided by our clinic. This is pure solidarity in action.

With this initiative, we are working towards a free and of high quality public health services, accessible for every human being.

With this initiative, we are struggling so that our neighbour can live in dignity, because otherwise we can not live in dignity ourselves.

With this initiative, we are working towards a society of solidarity in the service of every human in need.
