The capital city of Lesser Poland is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. Cracow has always been enchanting visitors with its architecture, art, culture and location. It is called a monument of history, a city of artists, a mainstay of art. It has a lot to offer to every visitor. Thousands of historic sites, hundreds of restaurants and cafes, dozens of routes and ways of sightseeing.

As befits a former capital city, Cracow has a long history. Archeologists discovered remains from the Palaeolithic (approximately 100 thousands years B.C.). The legends say that the town by the Vistula was developing already at the time of the Vistulans. Krak Mound and Wanda Mound are from that period – Krak was the legendary founder of Cracow and his daughter, the famous Wanda, who did not want to marry a German. For ages the greatest Polish kings lived at the Wawel – the Piasts, the Jagiellonians

and, finally, the Vasas who decided to move the capital from Cracow to Warsaw. Cracow was a place where Matejko, Kościuszko, Wyspiański or the famous bohemia of Cracow used to operate. This long history of the place and its famous inhabitants create the magic.

The Wawel Hill is a real pearl of Europe, the Old Town is visited by numerous tourists from the whole world every day. They come to Cracow to see St Mary’s Basilica with the famous altar created by Veit Stoss, listen to the trumpeter and his interrupted bugle call. They admire works of art, such as the Lady with an ermine, in a variety of museums. They walk in Floriańska Street, Kazimierz in search of Jewish traces, Pogórze and hipster Zabłocie. They visit Nowa Huta or Wolski Forest. They walk, cycle, go on a balloon ride, climb, dive, sail and drive a melex!

OLD PODGÓRZE –

a part of Cracow which is inextricably linked with the tragic Second World War and the extermination of Jews. It is a place where the ghetto of cracow was established. There you will come across Schindler Factory and Under the Eagle Pharmacy. This part of Cracow is also Zabłocie which was not frequented in the past as it was an industrial area. Today the estate is popular with hipsters and abounds in galleries and museums.

KAZIMIERZ – a district which used to be a town. Kazimierz was established by King Casimir III the Great in 1335. It has always been a multicultural spot. Today we associate it mainly with its Jewish history and artistic atmosphere. Kazimierz together with Stradom is a UNESCO site.
