The proximity of nature
Tylicz is a charming village about 10 km from Krynica-Zdrój located on the border between the Beskid Sądecki and the Low Beskids. Crystal clear water, mountain air and incredible treasures of nature are only a few reasons why one should visit the place for a summer or winter family holiday. The village, which used to be a town, is located in a small valley at 575-585 m, at the confluence of the Mochnaczka and Muszynka Streams.
Łan Mountain (742 m) from the east, Szubienica (695 m)
from the south and Szwarcowa (795 m) from the west rise over Tylicz. The location, history, historic sites and other attractions make it an attractive destination for either winter or summer holidays. Tylicz is a perfect spot for the amateurs of active leisure but also for those who long for tranquillity and want to calm down through the contact with nature in its pure form which, in this place, is at your fingertips as Tylicz lies within Poprad Landscape Park.
The richness of the landscape
Poprad Landscape Park is one of the oldest landscape parks in the Carpathians. It is also one of the most beautiful and the richest ones as far as landscape is concerned. Forests cover approximately 70% of its area and the beech, the fir, the linden and the alder are its dominant species. The park also abounds in mineral water springs – 70 intakes – which account for 20% of all Polish resources. Waters constitute 1.25 % of the park's
area and are an undeniable treasure of the region – they were the reason to develop numerous resorts. Tylicz has significant deposits of mineral and healing water around which the infrastructure was created and, at present, one may reach them without difficulty. The most popular spring is Zdrój Główny (the Main Spring) that is Tyliczanka spring. Around it, a beautiful mineral water pump room was built which is located in the Spa Park.
It is time to start family skiing!
In winter Tylicz transforms into a skiing village for families which offers excellent conditions for active leisure. Well-developed accommodation facilities and well-prepared slopes give us a chance to combine winter craze with relaxation in peace and quiet. It is great to do winter sports with the whole family, nevertheless, first we need to acquire some skills. It is common knowledge that the
learning process is the most effective at an early age so passion for sports should be instilled as early as possible. Pomarańcza Ski School, which has been functioning within TYLICZ.ski Station for years, adheres to this rule. This is the biggest school of this type in Tylicz with over 40 instructors who will teach you alpine and cross-country skiing or snowboarding.
Experience and passion
The main aim of POMARAŃCZA is to show that gaining knowledge and experience can be fun. The instructors take pleasure in teaching as it is their passion. They are patient, cheerful and focused on the progress of their students. POMARAŃCZA Ski School gives a lot of positive energy to children who are at the beginning of their winter adventure.
The Academy for the youngest skiers
POMARAŃCZA has come up with an original programme for the youngest skiers who are from 5 to 8 years old and created the Academy of Kubuś – a ski kindergarten where children learn how to ski in small groups from Monday to Friday. Children learn through play and sports games on a slope among their peers. The
instructors are qualified teachers and are great with children. Every day there is one warm meal and time for play in the Winter Town of Kubuś. Every course is crowned with a ski competition after which all participants receive a medal, a diploma and a sweet gift which motivates the youngest greatly.
Riders in the SNOW!
For a bit older students (8 to 12 years old), POMARAŃCZA offers group classes SKI RIDER Tylicz. Under the supervision of alpine skiing instructors, children perfect their ability to do this sport. However, to prevent trainees from getting bored, slalom rides with time measurement are organised on various runs. Such a course lasts 5 days during which GOPR (Mountain Volunteer Search
Dining with your family
After a day spent on schussing, one needs to restore their energy level and an excellent place to do it is a bistro within the ski station. The bistro offers dishes based on traditional recipes – dumplings, pancakes, soups and some regional delicacies combined with modern touches, for instance, grilled oscypek served with onion jam with raisins. Typical, traditional dishes are on the menu as well – a pork knuckle, ribs, pork neck or grilled trout.
and Rescue) rescuers come to present various, unpredictable situations which can happen on a slope. In this way, participants are familiarised with the principles of first aid in mountains. At the end of a day, a hot meal awaits everybody. The course ends with a skiing competition with time measurement.
Cross-country skiing and ice-skating
Picturesque views, peace and quiet of Tylicz encourage us to take advantage of cross-country skiing trails. Beginners or intermediate skiers can choose 2.5 km or 4 km routes which are prepared in Osada Turystyczna Domki w Lesie (‘Huts in the Forest’ Tourist Settlement). Those more advanced can hit the trail from Tylicz to the
top of Parkowa Mountain which is 12 km long and has steep ascends. The trails are regularly groomed. What is more, a modern rental, a service point and the only cross-country skiing school await cross-country skiers. If, however, you need a change, visit the open-air ice rink in Tylicz which is located close to the historic Square.
