APO 2040 KORAT CUTTING EDGE PLAN

Korat or Nakhon Ratchasima is one of the famous provinces in Thailand which has many potentials in environment and culture. In 2040 Korat will have development in transportation , such as high speed train and economic policy to approve that it could be one of the high-potential city of the Northeastern. Thus we concern the obscure urbanization that is the consequence of inefficient policy. Our project studied on planning policy and the cutting edge design that will lead Korat to sustainable way.

Nakhon Ratchasima, also called Korat is one of the provinces that lie in lower northeastern Thailand taking up space of 20,493,964 square kilometers covering 32 districts, it is thecountry’s largest province. Moreover , having Mattraphaop road or National Highway 2 passing through the province, it acts as a gateway to other provinces in the northeast

Korat is known as a gateway of Northeastern Thailand. It has a lot of advantages not only being close to the EEC, but the entry of high-speed trains will enhance Korat potential of being a port city and MICE city. The population tends to be more migratory as a result of the economic within the city. The expansion are expected to rise from 0.8 million to 2.2 million inhabitants.

From the study of urban development in both social and environment issues, it is found that Korat faced the problem of the flash flood in which the flood areas tend to be in the same way as city expansion which will affect future development.
