The project aims to study the appropriateness of solutions for managing water resources in the upper area of Lam Takhong reservoir. The project is a collaboration between the Department of Royal Irrigation and the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). The research focuses on solving problems in the upper area of Lam Takhong reservoir, both in terms of quantity and quality of water. The study and proposed solutions are divided into two issues, namely water quantity and water quality. The researchers focus on solving the water quality problem and have collected data on water quality, aquatic organisms, riparian vegetation, soil quality, economics, and tourism. Based on the collected and analyzed data, the project proposes 6 landscape projects, designed under a natural-based approach, which will create opportunities for communities and nature to learn and raise awareness, leading to improved water quality in the Lam Takhong river system.
