“A great success” and a “very enjoyable afternoon and evening”, was the response from those in attendance at the Darfield Netball Club fiftieth anniversary celebrations, held last weekend. There were old netball uniforms aplenty, at Saturday morning game time when present day players got to wear the old styles. This definitely raised a few smiles, and also saw them abandoned after just one quarter, as the old gym frocks were deemed far too hot for today’s players to wear! Late afternoon saw the arrival of guests, past and present committee members, along with former and current players and coaches. The Darfield Recreational Centre was superbly decorated with displays of memorabilia, trophies and photos. Much of which caused considerable amusement and laughter. The formal part of the evening saw acting Club President Victoria Leech take on the duties of MC, for the evening. Speeches from Jill Moore current Patroness, as well as past Presidents and committee members, made many present realise the amount of effort, hard work and

Each speech also held the clear message that all these people had joined the committee to ensure netball was offered to

the community, for everyone to enjoy. Each and every committee member was dedicated to provide the best facilities for the Club’s members.
